I had a bees nest under my roof, over the garage. I first noticed them getting in under a fascia trim board above the brick. I tried caulking it, but they bore a new hole. I had no idea the numbers I had. Finally I tore open the bird box (corner of the soffit) and saw the beginning of a honeycomb nest the size of a football. It was too hard to reach, so I stuck a shop vac up at the entry way and probably sucked out several thousand over a weeks time. I had ammonia in the bottom of the shop vac which killed everything I sucked in. They kept coming. I finally figures out all I had to so was sprinkle some Seven in the opening, and within 24 hours they all were dead. I still need to get rid of the nest and bees. What a nightmare. Not one person was stung, and we've got 3 kids with friends over all the time. Seven is your friend. Bees in your rafters are not.
