My class was canceled tonight so I went to look at houses with my realtor! Whee I found two that I really like... I'll see if I can get a mortgage tomorrow... both of them are on 1/2-acre lots, detached single-family homes, beautiful old neighborhoods, all hardwood floors... one's a brick rambler with a really nice stone facade, the other one has a basement out of the 70's (wood-paneled walls, colored cut-stone floor) but it has a septic tank which would probably be fine but I've never had one of those. Also the master bathroom is all pink tile laugh out loud I could be happy with either one actually.

Wow! First time out & I found two houses I really like! Whee

Very cool!! I love homes with stone/stone facades. We have a septic tank and have never had any issues. (Course now that I say that...lol). They both sounds nice....are you thinking of putting an offer in on one or are you gonna look around more?

I have to see if I can really afford them tomorrow. I'm gonna call a buddy of mine who sells mortgages and see what he can do for me. If I can afford one I can afford either, so I guess I'll put offers on both and see who bites... the long pole in the tent (so to speak) is gonna be whether I can get as much loan as I need--I'm 65% confident that I can, but I might not make *quite* enough money right now... we'll see. I'd also have to pretty much cash in ALL of my investments (not my retirement but just about everything else) to come up with 10% down--which means either I need to qualify for a 5% conventional loan or go FHA @ 3-5%.

The good news is I can get a raise @ work pretty much at will by nailing down more certs so my salary is unlikely to decrease but that's not a variable most lenders account for when they're deciding how much to give you. laugh out loud So we'll see. I'm crossing my fingers though, I really like both of these places.

I made baked pork chops, pasta with garlic and olive oil, mashed potatoes, corn and strawberries.

It's snowing but it's not sticking to the pavement yet. It's still 36 with a wind chill of 29.

He's ok. Dr said moist heat and ibuprofen. If it's not any better after the weekend, bring him back. I called his dr, and he's out of the country! (He's from Jordan) I can't believe he had no back up other than convenient care. He usually does.
