School just called. Elementary is letting out at 11:30, middle and high at 12:30. There are gonna be some ticked off parents trying to figure out how to get their kids. EEK! Oh, well. I'm pretty sure there will be no school tomorrow. Snow is falling. It's pretty. I just wish it wouldn't stick because I'm tired of seeing it on the ground. laugh out loud

Just grounded Nick until midterms. He's been warned since LAST midterms. His grade in geometry was an 83...it's AP geometry, and his test score is 91...but his homework grade is 71, and his bellringers grade (something they give them to do until class starts) is only 44. He just hasn't bothered. Obviously, he thought we were kidding. Guess he'll know better next time. Mad

Whip You go, Mama. One thing I cannot stand is outright laziness. Having problem with the subject matter I can understand, but to flat out refuse to do your work is inexcusable. It's school, not choose your own adventure time. Annoyed

I have this problem with BT a lot.

It had better because I'm sick of it. I usually go to bat for him with his dad, but if he's not even going to try, I'm not sticking up for him. Robert and I discussed it and made the agreement about him being grounded before he ever got home. Also, his teachers have been asked to let me know IMMEDIATELY if he misses ANY assignment. Bell ringers, test, homework...I don't care if he is supposed to sign his name for 5 pts and doesn't do it, I will be told.

I have this problem with BT a lot.
That's what I told him. If he were truly struggling that's one thing, but test scores of 91 tells me he's not. Plus, he just doesn't seem to care as long as he can skate by. If I was scared I'd be grounded for my grades, I'd do every single assignment, so at the very LEAST, I could say. "Hey, I did EVERYTHING."

I totally skated based on my test grades. Fortunately my mom took the viewpoint that if I'm acing every test, I must be learning the material woot
I'm not sure I got a report card from junior high onward that didn't say "does not work to potential" Prop
