Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Doesn't matter. I have a huge amount of bookmarks going back years that I've never gotten around to cleaning up. One thing that was nice with Firefox 4, setting up the new computer, with the sync function all my config and bookmarks were automatically moved to the new computer for Firefox (except addons, I hope they add that to sync some day).

A lot of folks worry about cookies and delete them all the time. I used to but I haven't bothered in forever, plus I like the convenience of not having to log in all the time. It's a trade off.
I just looked at the explorer on this computer and I think if I delete history it will take out all my prefilled forms and stuff and well. So I will leave it. I was thinking about Firefox on the netbook, but my reading glasses are too strong for that screen and my old glasses that I use on this large screen are not good enuf for the netbook. I find not staying too long on the netbook. And if I do not get the 2 gig will firefox slow it down too much?

The first time I called samsung and gave them my serial # they already had me registered and I assumed Marlboro did it. They knew my name without me telling them. Maybe they were bracing themselves for all my phone calls. Smilie Strange - .do you think I got the older model?
Probably if you registered on there site like I did when i was trying to register the computer. When I called them they called my registration up and took my serial number down and noted me trying to register is. Then said try and register it on line in a couple weeks and the would hopefully have the model updated in there system.

BIOS is the low level software built into the computer that loads up even before the operating system. It's were a lot of hardware configuration is determined. On the netbook you can see the BIOS configuration screens if you hit F2 right after you power up.
Ty but I still don't know what that means. I operated computers for 22 years but never learned how to do and of the other stuff as we had the computer wiz right in our office. I started on a Burroughs back in 1981 that took up half the wall and had huge disk to back up on.

That's interesting. Why would you think you got an older model? It's the N145, right? I think that's what everyone got.

Can't help you with IE, but with Firefox the histories for forms and downloads and cookies and other stuff are all separate and can be deleted, or not, individually. I usually clear my cache, download history, and flash cookies automatically but leave the rest of my history and cookies.

Yeah, the netbook screen is rather small. I'm using it at the moment with an external monitor. It's not very big, but it's a world of difference. Right now I'm on 1gb and using Firefox and it runs fine. Also have Chrome installed and that seems fine, though I've only had a couple of sites open at the same time with Chrome. Then again I'm on Linux. Also everything seems fast compared to the computer I was using Wink

I am sure most people know this , but it is suprising how many people do not. If you press the Ctrl key (lower LH bottom of keyboard) and also press the + key (Rh middle key) it increases the font size making it much easier to see all things on the internet.

How would this be for an avatar? When not driving my Charger, I need an alternative form of transportation,
maybe an old goat?

It is. I got the flag but thought I ordered the guitar. But nice for free. I do not see you on much any more. Last I saw your computer was still in the box - do I remember correct?

It's still in the box unopened

5 stitches. Nail still there. Doc says I'll probably keep it. I can sure feel it now!!
I can't believe you only got 5 stitches in that thing!! Have you tried the finger/thumb condoms to keep your thumb dry when showering? Guess they're offically called 'finger cots'. Sure look like condoms to me! At the base I wrap waterproof tape. Sure by now you've gotten it down pat. I'm just late on posts Frown

They told me not to remove the bandage til I go back to the hospital (tomorrow) for a wound check. Because I cut into the bone, it is very prone to infection. So, it will probably be a few more days for new pics. They'll probably wrap me back up before I leave. I don't know if I'll be able to take pics whilst there. hehe
The worst part about something like that is the darn needle to numb you up!! That hurts more than anything! When the stitches come out, that can smart as well, especially if there are crusties around the stitches. Just remember to breathe Smilie

Here's from the official rules. It seems it is all random and your score has nothing to do with your chances of winning.

There will be three thousand (3,000) random, computer-generated winning times during the Promotion Period. If you are the first player to play the Instant Win Game at or after one of the randomly-generated times, you will be a potential instant winner of the prize indicated. Smilie
