Been a while. My laptop went poof!!Crying

And then last night after thinking my netbook was defective I found out it was ME!!!!!!!!!! Worked on it quite a while last night. Turns out when I removed the memory to see what the type was underneath I didn't put back in all the way. Even the Techs at Samsung gave up. Not me.
Anyway does anyone have any suggestions on a external DVD?? I've been looking & found this one. Since I don't know too much about them can I have some opinions?? With everything out there I'm getting overwhelmed. Help

My recommendation would be that if you don't require the portability then avoid the "slim" drives as they don't last nearly as long as the full size drives, especially if you do much burning.

I know for a while we have been trying to get the sd cards to work with ready boost. well I tried again to get it to work. I did upgrade to 7 home premium and I thought maybe it needed to be turned on. wrong. but I put the sd card in, and went into properties and clicked on the ready boost tab. I then read that

This device cannot be used for ready boost.

The device does not have the required performance characteristics for use in speeding up your system.


I am now trying to use a 4 gig flashdrive for ready boost. so far so good. I will see how much better everything works. it is letting me use 3716 mb for ready boost. dont like the fact it sticks out a bit, but my mouse usb sticks out a little also. I will just have to be really careful. that just means one thing, my netbook, mine, mine, all mine. no kids. hands off. lol
