Yes, it is time. I don't care if it is 110 outside. It's only 36 days until the first Auburn football game, so it is time.

Who stands out this early? Texas? ND? laugh out loud (only if you are ESPN)

One interesting thing, there will be games in 3D this year.

Auburn - Clemson game will be in 3D [ledger-enquirer.com]

I thought there would be a lot more points scored. I didn't expect such a defensive game.

No one did.

If I had told you that Auburn would only score 6 points in the second half and still win, you would have called me crazy.

#1 Team in the country! Auburn rocked these ducks. Close game. However, the win was inevitable. War Eagle to all you fans out here!

Looks like Saban is a big Auburn fan!

Congrats to Auburn. Defenses by both teams played great. Oregon's scheme looked eerily similar to one faced by Auburn earlier in the season that worked rather well. However, something needs to be done to the rule of what a "tackle" is. Dyer got taken down but because of a technicality he wasn't ruled down. Strange play to hang the outcome of a game on. I don't think it would have mattered though. If it had gone to OT, Auburn probably would have won anyway. Auburn's defense was pretty good inside the red zone for most of the game and their bruising inside running game was starting to take a toll on Oregon.

I know it didn't...but whose bright idea was it to say that it had to be a knee or a wrist touch the ground?? He freakin rolled on top of the defender and he wasn't down? Please. Textbook tackle negated by a technicality. Next think you know, players will wear knee pads and say their knee never touched the ground on any tackle shake head Auburn was definitely the more physical team and would've won without that play, but it makes no sense. If a player slips on his own and uses the hand that is carrying the ball to regain his balance, he's down. If he uses his other hand it's fine. If a player is completely wrapped up and brought down by a defender, but is brought down on top of the defender, said player can get back up and run..makes no sense.

The defender serves as a buffer zone, needs to make ground contact for him to be declared down.

p.s. yellow = ghey

I know the rules as well as anyone else...but, doesn't make them any more valid. I was just making an observation on how you can actually tackle a player and bring him down on top of you and he can get up and run again, but if a player slips on his own and uses the wrong part of his body to regain his balance, he's down.
