My dh is coming around, but much more slowly. I haven't had the chance to meet anyone yet since I'm stuck in the corner of the country. But he doesn't get upset that I'm spending $$ on postage now that he's seen such great boxes arrive. I just wish he would get it that you guys are some of my closet friends. I think he's still a little wierded out by the whole thing.
Our friends met with the cleft team at Children's this week. I'm so thankful we live in a big city and they have great care. They know that she has a cleft lip, but don't know yet how severe it is and if she also has a cleft palate (won't know that until birth). Their little tyke is looking at least 2 surgeries in her first year, plus a childhood/lifetime team of speech/psych/orthodontic and other specialists. I know they must be so very overwhelmed. But they were told to keep friends and family as informed as possible, so we can support them along the way. I'm thankful for that. And by the way, they named her Grace Ruby. So cute.
Whoohoo! You have such an exciting day ahead of you. Have fun!

Okay Coachie, here's a few cute purple butterfly ones. You know I had to do a little research for you, especially since I know how much PB kids stuff is.

DD and I have been talking about your corner of the world for this summer...she really wants to go to my friend's at Warm Beach. We are looking at letting her and maybe her best friend fly out to Seattle for a week of training to be a counselor at camp and then they would have a week off (great time for me to come out) and then they could be a camp counselor for the next week and then they could fly home. It would be in July and we are still trying to figure everything out. Logistics might be tricky. The girls would be staying as campers in weeks 1 and 3, so on week 2, they would be staying with my friend...or if I come out, with me as I am sure we would want to go to the islands at least one day to try to see some whales! I am thinking that my friend would be able to pick them up and take them to the airport since it is a little ways away...or heck, the bus runs right in front of the camp, maybe they could ride the bus. Still have quite a few things to see if it would work out as well as it won't be cheap as flights are a lot more than the last time we went. If the girls could just stay with my friend during week 2, then there really wouldn't be a reason for me to come out and have the expense of the car and flight and fun...but I so want to go out and be able to meet you and enjoy WA in the summer!

Would that freak him out? A crazy lady that would let her kid fly 1/2 way across the country to go to camp? I was really surprised that my DH is okay with this...at least the girls going...I still haven't sprung the idea of me going for a week yet!

Here are the participants. Set in STONE!!! tomorrow while I'm watching the pro-bowl, I'll email yall the link to edit the spreadsheet. You will chose 4 blocks per entry. Mustoffa will have 4, Snowbear will chose 8, and Catram will have 12.

It doesn't matter which block you pick at this point in time as the numbers haven't been placed and that will occur after everyone has chosen. It makes it easier for me if you use your SD's handle, but that is only because I refuse to learn your real names.

Funny you should say this, because I think DH would actually totally get this. He and I met at a camp a lot like warm beach (just a little further north) and I spend 6 action-packed summers working at camp. I would totally volunteer to do a little shuttling for DD if didn't have a newborn and a 2 year old to drag along. The airport is about 30-45 min from our house, and warm beach is about 45 min in the other direction. We're right in the middle. I was just about to say we have a guest room with your name on it, but I guess by then it will be a "big girl" room. wow, life is going to change. But, I would still LOVE LOVE LOVE to meet you. I could show you some fun sights around here while you're here. And I'd let you snuggle a newborn. Winknod

We had a pretty tough day today. Many of you who have been around this thread for a while know about my cousin Melanie who has CF. 3 years ago she miraculously underwent a double lung transplant. Even more miraculously, it was her second one. She has beaten all the odds and pulled through so many times when she couldn't possibly have. Well, she had 2 pretty close calls over Christmas, and again pulled through. But today the doc's who have known her most of her life (and theirs, since she is 23) tell us her time is almost up. They are doing their best to keep her comfortable. We spent the afternoon at the hospital in ICU. She was in and out of consciousness but we think she's able to see who's there. It was so amazingly hard watching her struggle with her whole body for every breath. Tonight we pray for her parents who will stay by her side. I can't imagine what it's like to watch your child suffer and know the end is so near. We will probably go back tomorrow, depending on if she makes it through the night. We just had to get our house cleaned up so if people want to spend the night, they can. The hospital is in Seattle and the rest of the family lives about 2 hours away. I'm a little bit numb right now.

I am in the middle of a pleasant surprise. One Netflix I can stream the movie priceless, and as it happens, it has one of my favorite french actors (as if there are so many). And it seems similar to a role he played in The Valet, and I am just tickled. Tickled, I say.

There's a thread that suggests that the living social purchases may have lead to some fraudulent charges on your credit card. I'd take a look just to make sure.

And for what it is worth, I REALLY REALLY liked Priceless. I'm not sure that I like it more than the Valet, but it was high quality. Even had boobs!

If anyone wants to watch it... maybe I happened to visit your house and accidentally left my Netflix login information in your computer... and cest la vie.

I need to buy a lilac or pink slipcover for a huge, overstuffed chair and a half and matching huge, overstuffed ottoman (the ottoman alone is so big it could be used as a seat for two people) I have never bought a slipcover before, let alone one for such obscure furniture. Does anyone know where I can find these slipcovers? This is going to be my "late night nursing spot" in baby's room.

Just thought I would give a heads up, I went to staples today and in the clearance stuff there was a bunch of teacher things, certificates, and things like that for 50 cents each.
Thanks for the info...I went to mine yesterday but not happening here Mad

Quote from Coach Girl :
That reminds me- I've been meaning to make a box for Kootzie's nephew- I've had the box and some items in it for months, but I know I have more somewhere, it's just that the somewhere could be anywhere! I'm going to gather it up and get it together by the time Wexie visits me, so she can give it to kootz!

Also, Wexie, I'm getting goodies together for you, too! Can't wait to meet you! And you asked before if dh thinks it's weird to meet a SD friend on vacation. At first he would think it was weird when I was boxing up stuff to send to people for Secret Santa and trades and stuff. Then he saw when I got my boxes of goodies, and he was like, "Who would send you all of this great, expensive stuff for free?!" After I explained it, he said, "So you send a box of crap you don't want, and get a box of crap you do want?" Welcome to Slickdeals, hubbie!

It was kind of funny when I was collecting for Rach's baby, and the paypal is under his name, so he kept getting these emails saying he had cash. He was like, "Look at all this money we got!" I told him right away to step off that money, it wasn't his, it was a SD thing. Then he saw me getting the gift cards together and writing out the card, and he was amazed at how much you guys rocked. He couldn't believe that so many "strangers" around the country had gotten together to do something like that. That's what makes our group so awesome. I can honestly say that some of my best friends are on here, and I've only seen pictures of you!

The coolest was actually being able to meet Kootz in person! She is as beautiful and saucy in person as she is online! And I can honestly say that I met an internet friend at a hotel. Sounds kinky, huh?
You are too kind...I also have some shipping out to do but have been waiting to see if something else comes in the mail for you and/or Ariel Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Love the crap comment...You certainly have a way with words

AND...

Saucy...yes Beautiful...only in my mind Stick Out Tongue

I do have to agree with this. She is much more mouthy online but I am thinking both times there were babes around. One of these days they won't be and I'll get her drunk and then we'll see...
