SlickCate --- if there's anything you are looking to try let me know and I'll see if I have it --- otherwise it will be a surprise Smilie

l2b....that is funny on the hotdogs....dh and I were just talking about how we have quite a few in the freezer to use and how we never eat them anymore because of diets Roll

Just funny how one person's 'diet' food can be another's non-diet food LMAO
Have you ever tried the turkey hotdogs? I haven't, but I had a friend who used to eat them..
I am not a hotdog person. Haven't eaten one in close to a year probably.. But, something that I get a craving for every now and then.. Definitely not something I would eat alot of !

Speaking of turkey.. I love the butterball turkey smoked sausage.. I like it better than the regular smoked sausage. The texture and everything is better!

Hmmm, why would chicken make you struggle to stay on plan? Isn't chicken encouraged on just about any diet? One advantage to low carb, meat is a free for all. I actually have bacon cooking right now. I do make deviled eggs sometimes. Thanks for the reminder, I don't often think of it, and that sounds good. I need to match a batch of the fake rolls. 1/2 carb each and they are pretty decent. It's at least something to put butter on or to use as a bun or to make a sandwich other than a wrap. Fewer carbs too.

Yes, OM hot dogs are one carb -- at least most of them. Most of the cheaper brands have ~ 3 each. Have you tried the XXL Hot Dogs? They are expensive but they are really good. The cheapest I have ever seen them is on sale for $2.50.

Sorry, guess my post was confusing.. I meant, if I didn't like chicken, it would be hard for me to stay eating low carb, cause I eat alot of chicken Smilie I was thinking about you not eating chicken and I was thinking how that is my daily food and was wondering what I would eat to replace it laugh out loud but, I guess since you don't eat it, you are used to eating other things.
I have never bought those kind.. but, like I say, I can't even remember the last time I bought a pack of hot dogs! Since I rarely buy them, 2.50 a pack isn' t too bad at all!

I tried making the rolls before and they turned out yuck.. I need to try again!

Just finished my coffee and have a review for today!

Tried the cinnamon pastry kcup for the first time today.. it was great! I can tell it will be one of my favorites! It is the first kcup I have ever tried that has a distinct flavor.. even if I didn't know what kind it was, you can clearly taste the cinnamon. It does take less creamer for me too because of the cinnamon flavor!

Okay, I must go get some things done.. my kids need some prodding to finish some school work, and I need to do some laundry!

Just wanted to pipe in about good books/series. Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series is very good. He died in 2007 and Brandon Sanderson took over from outlines, but is still worth reading. Currently 12 books long. Also Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series is good, but can be preachy at times. Not religious preachy, just the "people must live free or die trying" sort of thing. It is nothing like the Legend of the Seeker show that was out a while ago, that was loosely based on the books. And I guess I'll be the unpopular one and say that I didn't care for Twilight. I just prefer vampires that don't sparkle. I did like the Vampire Diaries when I was in high school though. Please don't beat me or make me drink decaf...
Thanks I will have to check out those series! I am a HUGE reader, so I always need more books to add to my "to read" list! I liked Vampire Diaries too. My 13 yo dd did at first, but then lost interest in them. They have a new book coming out this spring too I think.

Ohhh, I made the Peking Pork Chops last night that I had posted about. Everyone here LOVED them (well except Sophia, but I am struggling with her and food lately, but after some amazing advice from great friends last night, I am trying something new starting today, :thanks guys!)!! I think this is a recipe that will be used again in the future!

Good Morning! I see we have a new thread. Pulling a 'skimming' of the thread. So what I am really saying is I have no idea what any of you are talking about..except I can guess..Twilight, Keurig, and sex.

Carry on, just send me an alert if the sex chat gets good.
Off to finish watching the dreaded RA videos.

I had the one on my Oster too... it was the biggest waste of time and money Evvvver!
I like mine just fine. I had one of the old crank type, like the electric one better. I don't do a lot of grinding though. I did think of one other think I occasionally use it for -- bacon. I grind it and mix it with hamburger for bacon cheeseburgers.

Why beef, of course!
I would be willing to bet you didn't beat the whites long enough. Then you have be really careful to stir yolks in without flattening the whites. I beat my whites + cream of tarter until it won't fall off an upside down spatula. Then in another bowl I beat the mayo into the yolks just a bit. Then I gently blend the yolks into the whites. Mine have never taken an hour to bake either. I also use mayo instead of cottage cheese. First, it has no carbs, second, I like it better. The cottage cheese made it have a kind of crunchy weird bite every now and then. I kept thinking I had gotten egg shell in it.

After my last post, I went out to turn the bacon. While I was out there I put a batch in the oven and just now took them out and buttered one up. Also boiled some eggs.

This is the deadest morning I have seen in here in a long time. I think everybody is out buying nasty Keurig flavors so they can ship them on to the next unsuspecting person.

Yummy.. the bacon cheeseburger sounds so good!!
I don't eat a ton of beef.. I like a good hamburger though.. and occasionally steak, although not when I make it.. I make beef roast occasionally, but that is about all.

As far as the rolls go. Here is my theory, but I could be wrong.. I think I added too much cream of tartar.. They were very powdery and crumbly and had a "sour" taste.. The thing is, for some reason, I thought I was supposed to just beat them up by hand.. so, after several minutes of whipping them, I added more tartar, then after a few minutes, I added more.. finally got out the mixer and beat them until firm.. I cooked them awhile cause they didn't seem to be cooking.. and when I got them out, they almost fell into ashes when I touched them. ANd, like I say, they had a funny taste to me.

I was thinking the same thing about Bunnies post.. I haven't skimmed and don't remember a sex post at all LMAO

That is why it would probably not work for me. I like having a little meat but even the meats I like I don't like to eat a lot of, KWIM? There are some I just totally do not care for at all. Not that there aren't other low-carb things but the whole meat thing has no appeal to me!

shake head I have a feeling I wouldn't care for them just knowing me. Not a fan or turkey bacon or ground turkey or ground chicken for that matter. It is completely a psychological thing.

I don't like sausage at all....patties, links, etc.....none of it.

I will eat chicken, beef, turkey, ham, bacon in small quantities but I don't know what it is I just can't eat much of it. Maybe because it is filling? bulb I suppose that might be the case too. Not a big fan of lunch meat either. Hy-Vee has a good DiLusso honey mesquite turkey in their deli section and I do like that. But it is pricey so we don't buy it often. Sometimes there is a DiLusso coupon out.

tracy, I will be in your area in about 2 weeks and you can lose weight with me. I've lost 70 lbs or so now with no calorie counting, no weight watchers, no atkins, etc.

P.S. You and I have a date with Kmart in the very near future. Wink

I was just coming here to make sure you gals had seen this one. I only purchase from Amazon once or twice a year so I haven't decided if I'm going to buy any but shoot at 50% off I'll probably cave by end of day and get in on it.

Question though I saw you could order only one per e-mail. But will they get canceled or voided by livingsocial if they see all were paid with same credit card? I have 4-6 different e-mails I could use but only 1-2 credit cards.

Since you are coming out of the Twilight closet I guess I will as well. I absolutely LOVED the whole Buffy & Angel Series and was heartbroken when they ended. So far I've refused to allow myself to even look at the Twilight books/movies. I have the impression they would be a little too much teen-age romance/angst and not enough of kick Demon-@$$ for me to enjoy but I think my real fear would be getting into another series that I'd be crushed when it ended.
