WTH? Really? That DOES seem odd. Keep us posted.
i just called and no they are not closing, just remodelling. found out bff's employee's gf went to buy school supplies, said they had none left and that everything was 75% off and only clothing left and she left w/o buying anything. silly girl! bff's employee is very good-looking but really dumb, i worked w/ him for one day when helping bff move her store and omg he is really dumb, so i guess the gf must be also. too bad he doesn't work at target!!!Big Grin

Head Bang I just ordered some of those $1/1 coupons for Ronzoni Garden Delight because I was all excited to try it....and then I went to their website to the product locator and apparently nowhere around here carries it Embarrassment Uuuuuggggghhhhh. I really want to try it and wanted it for the dieting!!!!

I don't know that we ever formally threatened a punishment of sorts but we used the method with dd where you just let them run around naked from the bottom down and after one or two times of them peeing on themselves it is great incentive to use the potty....and with that method you make it very matter-of-factly CLEAR that it is not acceptable to pee/poop anywhere except in the potty. You don't punish them but you definitely don't make light or it or say anything like, 'it's OK, maybe we can make it to the potty in time next time' because well, it's NOT OK that you go anywhere except the potty, KWIM? So, the couple times dd did not make it I would give her a disapproving look and tell her that 'pee-pee only goes in the potty.' Then we would clean up the mess and a couple times of that and she was going in the potty. That was back in May and she's not had an accident since then woot

I am a very matter-of-fact, say-it-like-it-is person so this worked quite well for us Wink
i think it would be cost prohibitive to mail you free pasta from my pantry since each box is around 12oz. and a bit silly. otherwise i would totally do it. hmmm, $10.05 to send 5lbs to iowa city via parcel post. when is your bday?Stick Out Tongue

my db trained my nephew in one wk by having him go bottomless also. said it was really funny to see him dancing around when he had to go.

sil potty-trained her son in one wk when he was 2yrs 9 months cuz that was the minimum age to go to nursery school plus they had to be potty-trained b4 they were allowed in.

i'm sure sooner or later all kids get it, just sometimes you wish they would get it sooner rather than later. hmmm, wondering if bff's 8yr old daughter is still wearing pull-ups at nite. supposedly she is such a deep sleeper she doesn't wake up when she needs to go. she hasn't said anything recently. she did say a few months ago that if it didn't stop by the time she was 9yrs old, would have to see a specialist. she's po'd that she failed the vision test at school and she just got her new glasses in sept. she thinks the optometrist didn't do a good job. i would not disagree. i went there and didn't like the way my glasses were ground so had them redone w/ a cheaper lens but i always thought he didn't do a good job the first time and my glasses didn't fit right for months and months so i was always going back to get them adjusted. dh went there and got progressives and doesn't use the progressive part. not going back there ever again. hmmm, i did tell her that her daughter had a hard time seeing. but i think it was b4 the new glasses, not after.

ok, procrastinating today. gotta go cook dinner and get some housework done.

later!

i've heard people say back when we were toilet trained, it was around one yr old and lots of older folk just shake their heads that kids are still toilet training at 3.

i know they used to not have size 6 diapers around 10-15 yrs ago but started making them b/c lots of moms were going back to work, didn't have time and kids were getting toilet trained later. also babies were being born bigger too. 6-7lbs and 8lbs was huge. now there's lots of 8lb babies.

that's what they were saying about my cousin's daughter, that she was 3 yrs old and still not potty trained b/c her mom was working. but it all works out in the end. i think she's in college now or recently graduated Stick Out Tongue.
All of my mom's babies were well over 8lbs, and she had 11 kids in total. The biggest was closer to 12 lbs.

I think boys are definitely less inclinced to potty-train than girls. Their overall temperament is more laid-back/easy-going, and they don't mind the mess. I know that's a generalization and not all boys fit into it, but I know for sure my son did. nod My experience with PT him made me skirred to even start with my second one, but she was a dream compared to him. And now my 3rd, also a girl, is just over 2 years old and is just now showing interest. When I send the other two to the potty, she will say she has to go. We are just about out of diapers for her, so I think I'll just start buying pull-ups and start getting her trained.

My two older ones are still wearing pull-ups at night, and I think I'm gonna stop that. I hate getting up in the middle of the night to deal with accidents, but at the same time, they're both old enough to be done with bed-wetting. Not to mention, I'm sick of buying pull-ups all the time. laugh out loud

Stayed home from church tonight. I am trying to kick this cold for good, and I told my hubby that if I can rest and relax while he's home to take care of the kids, that'll get me off on the right foot for the rest of the week. I slept the whole afternoon and feel tons better. Here's hoping we're in the final stages of it!

And speaking of final stages, my grandpa is very near to the end. They have taken him off all his meds, so its basically whenever his body and mind give in. My aunt has been posting pictures every day on fb of him and my grandma and its just so sweet. He celebrated his 88th birthday yesterday. My grandma is confused most of the time, though she has had a few lucid moments where she has told my grandpa to go ahead and go to Jesus whenever he's ready, that she'll be ok. Crying2 How I hope and pray my hubby and me can have such a sweet relationship 60+ years down the road!!

OK, is there a deal on toilet paper anywhere this week? I know I missed the madness at RA last week, but I was not feeling up to shopping very much. We have about 3 rolls left, so I must find a deal somewhere. Smilie

Flug - sorry about your grandfather hug

Hope everyone gets over their hives, itching, colds, pains, and various ailments Hug2

Thankfully, my eye feels much better woot

I got called into work around midnight last night.. worked an hour and half, then came home.. couldn't sleep so I was up til 3:30.. been tired all day. Can't wait til bedtime tonight.

Today was busy with church and a church staff meeting for 2 hours.. we didn't get to eat until almost 3 pm, and then I wasn't in the mood to even shop after that. I think I have just lost my desire.. I need some good coupons to motivate me..

Did anyone try the marie calendars/healthy choice deal with the TQ?? Are they playing nice like TGIF?

I don't know if I'll be flogged bringing this over or not. No Tomato please.

This post has a $1/1 Sunchips or Ruffles MQ (Walgreens prominently in RED) in it, and each time you open the link, you can print 2, non-unique Qs.

Walgreens has select Lays 2/$5 this week and there is an IVC in the January Book for $1/2. I got them for $1 a bag plus tax. I guess to go with all the Pepsi products we've been buying at CVS.
Link is now for Fritos. Scratchchin wonder what it will be next week?

We want to ;eave this crap-hole country bumkin town in NC and go to the Pheonix AZ area, I have been looking at houses in Maricopa where Bristol Palin just bought a house. They we hit hard in the house bubble burst and there are ton of big houses going form half of what we paid for this house here. I did a little looking and DH could get a job at the statring salary only 5k less with better bonuses and benifits and we would have 1/2 the house payment. My goal is to have the house on the market come March and move after this schoool year but before the next school year.

Are you going to have to sell? This is our 1st home, and will be our first sale.
Are you familiar with the Maricopa area? There are no major stores like Target, Costco, etc. within about 20 minutes. I believe there is a Walmart and a couple of grocery stores. I have only been there once or twice, (I am in Phoenix) but a lot of my friends from that area have left for one reason or another, mostly the commute and the inconvenience to other places. I don't know much about the schools other than many kids are bussed to the Ahwatukee area for the Kyrene schools because they are so good.

If you want any info on housing, schools, etc. here, PM me and I will help in any way that I can.

I am so jealous.. I love peanuts and they are great on my low carb diet.. but my store doesn't have the small bags.. Wonder if I could take a road trip and they would let me go through the line about 100 times so I could stock up laugh out loud or maybe I could just 25 at once like some folks in deals do Wink

Wanted to chill on the couch and watch TV, but just finished cleaning the kitchen and making tomorrow's dinner. Made a spaghetti bake in my nice new calphalon pan with a lid and put it in the fridge so DD will just need to pop it in the oven for about 30 minutes tomorrow evening.. I don't usually work Mondays, but am going in tomorrow and won't be home until about 10 pm..
Now, I think I will relax and watch some CSI bounce
