My oldest is quite a joy and blessing to me. I don't know what I'd do without her! Today - I've been able to rest most of the day and she's managed to keep my monkey toddler at a non-globally-destructive level. That is not easy to do... *laugh* It did help that daddy was home all day, but he's not feeling well either!

It sounds like she's still teetering on the abortion ledge. I totally understand that at 16 she is not ready to be a mom, but it would be wonderful if she could chose to give the baby to another couple that is ready to be parents. We are praying that she decides to not abort - even if the baby doesn't come to us (though, we are kind of hoping...), at least give the baby and another couple that wants a child a chance! So we are just waiting to see. Praying and waiting. I guess that's about all we can do right now.

Grandma is comatose but still hanging in there. My MIL says she makes this sound that she calls a "death rattle" - lots of congestion and such rolling around in her chest. It sounds awful and I am so sad for the family - but at least they are all together right now.

I hate the mouthy stage. Thankfully, DD's was fairly shortlived. She gets short-tempered at times (not sure WHERE she gets that from... Whistling ), but overall she's pretty good about watching her tone/words, etc... DH was a huge huge help in that area. When she first started with the mini-tude he sat her down and said "That's your mother and that's MY wife. You WILL NOT disrespect MY WIFE like that. You better disrespect me before you EVER THINK of disrespecting MY WIFE like that..." It took about 2-3 times like that with immediate and very steep consequences, but we've basically not had any issues since. *If* DD has a rare snotty moment, she will apologize pretty quickly. (Of course, I've done my fair share of apologizing too - cuz, ya know... I'm hormonal sometimes too. Wink )

Yeah, this girl has had a rough life. I was a mom at 19 - and that was tough AND I was married. Not sure how I could've done it at 16 without some major sanity issues. We'll see, though. It would be so awesome to have another baby to snuggle and raise, but we'll have to wait and see what God has in store for us. I am trying not to get too attached to the idea either. It's kind of hard though. Smilie

I wonder what will happen for DH when his parents pass away - of if one of his siblings pass before he does. *That* scares me even more than grandma passing. They are so very close.

Awww she sounds amazing... and I love the pics of her, she really is a beautiful young lady. I was reading my dh's niece (that was basically not talked to due to her dad (my dh's brother) and ex issues) fb page... oh my lord.. if my dd's were on fb at 16 talking about sex, etc. I would be taking away all technology and giving them a chapter book and that is it!! Well hello!?! No one sees anything wrong with it... and then she is on her cellphone (even though it is with my dh) at 11 and 12 at night...wth is wrong with this picture... her mom is OK with her receiving calls that late...etc. So I understand what you mean by she is a good kid.

I am definitely a BIOTCH sometimes... but generally I will apolgize quickly if I am irrational cause at that time of the month I definitely am haha... I understand about how hard it must be not to get thinking of the idea of having another baby... I mean to adopt or have... today I was looking at my 9 month old... and she is the last baby... and literally I was in tears b/c she is already standing up, crawling, waaaaaa I want her to be a baby FOREVER... I told my dh I am adopting a capuchin monkey baby when the kids get a bit older so I can have a baby forever LMAO I am crazy oh well...

I hear you... about the passing of siblings and parents.. I cannot imagine what it would be like, you know!?!

I have so much to think about lately... I am finishing up my Masters... and literally have no clue what to do... I was thinking of opening a business in FL but not sure as obviously you cannot live off of income that may not be there with the kids, etc. My greatest love is animals outside of my family of course... but I did not end up taking up vet medicine... b/c again I would be broke b/c if anyone came in and told their animal was sick and had little or no money I would have treated the animal and dealt with it... and I absolutely HATE pet stores... lol decisions, decisions, decisions. lol

so weird! i've been kinda bored w/ my drink selection at home and ricola tea popped into my head today!

goo'nite all! didn't make it to target today. bff called and ends up she finds her new job so booooring and is seriously thinking of quitting. she's been there 4 days. imho she was all caught up in the prestige of working for an iconic company and having the name on her cv that she never gave thought to what the company actually does. ends up there is too much culture shock between her old company aimed at young people that she worked for too long at and the new conservative older audience company. we discussed it all for hrs.

so off to target, whole foods to drop off #5 plastic recyclables and look for good veggies and the supermarket tomorrow.

My damn hotmail did that thing again. Everybody in my address book got an email from me -- most if not all were for a viagra. This time, the sent email is actually in that folder. Last time, it wasn't. The malicious software tool found nothing. Now, I'm doing a whole full long scan. Last time this happened (months ago) nothing showed up. I searched online and found others with the same thing happening and none of them have had anything show up in any scans either.
Did you change your password? I had that happen in Yahoo once. It showed up in my sent folder AND some of the emails I had saved were in the trash. I changed my password and security questions.

For those in the NoVA area, and possibly other areas as well, Chick-Fil-A is doing their "Support Our Troops" again. You get a special Priority Mail box from CFA, fill it with goodies, bring it back in and get a coupon for a free CFA sandwich. I LOVED doing this last year, and filled probably half a dozen boxes or more. I remember getting rid of LOTS of Soy Joy bars. laugh out loud Those pouches of Planters nuts will be great this time around, as well as those Hasbro card games, any of the travel size items, the Garnier face wipes, etc. Yippee! An easy way to help out the troops and also get rid of some of my stockpile. Oh, and the free sandwich is nice, too. Big Grin
That's nice!

Heck! I had my baby back when you didn't even get to know what you were having until you had it..
