OMG We actually got a good one on the first try and dd was sooooo good I went to T. after and she picked out a little prize Wink I seriously picked a dentist pretty much from looking at them online because I needed one myself and decided to ask them if they take kids too and they said yes and explained their philosophy on how they do it when they are this young --- how they don't push them too much, etc. LOVED that and hoped it would be good and it was.

I had the *worst* dentist experiences as a child....went to a ped. dentist and was sent to an ortho by 4th grade....between the dentist and the ortho. they decided I needed a bunch of teeth extracted because my mouth was too small to get my teeth all straight with braces alone. They pulled about 4 teeth total and I went back to the ortho. who said I needed MORE pulled. I REFUSED to go....and luckily my mom did not make me (I was a strong-willed kid and would have run away before she made me go back there.) Anyway, fast forward to my senior year of high school when she gave me one more shot for braces before I was off of her insurance...

Different dentist, different orthodontist and surprise bulb this ortho. says HECK NO they did NOT need to pull all of those teeth and that I would now have two gaps in my upper teeth Mad So, to this day I have tooth-sized spaces to the right and left of my two front teeth. At some point when we can afford to I will likely have a bridge made. Or I could have implants done but I really don't want those. My retainers have fake teeth in them so I can still wear them for pics and stuff if I need to but I typically do not because I can't talk right with them in. It still makes me angry to this day and I do not want dd having a similar bad experience Frown
Thismom, you weren't at Blairsferry this afternoon around 1:30 to 2 were you? I could swear I saw a little girl that looked exactly like your little cutie this afternoon.

OH! MY! GOSH! It was you! I was going to say Hi but didn't want to freak you out. Saw you over on the east wall and then again in shoes. Next time will definitely say hello. I had on a purple shirt and a black fingertip length jacket on. I'd ran in real quick to fill perscriptions and see if the KA chopper was down to $19 and get the $10 GC. It was and it did. Happy girl, happy girl!

Awesome!!! I really don't 'notice' anyone unless they scream 'couponer' or are being extremely obnoxious Roll So you must be neither of those laugh out loud All my coupon stuff is contained in my purse so I hopefully am not either of those....unless dd is being particularly obnoxious and usually she is pretty well-behaved.

I was in the shoe dept. looking for slippers for dd (of course they've mostly clearanced those already Annoyed) since the bottom foam stuff in one of her like....disintegrated Huh Only found one pair her size even and they didn't look like they'd fit. The girl loves her slippers, gonna have to find some somewhere around here.

I thought the Goodlife cat food (individual tray) with the $1.50/1 Q was a MM as well.

HELP!!!! I am going to Chicago tomorrow morning to pick up our new car and thought I might as well pull some T Shenanigans whilst I'm there. I totally need to know what to pack and have no time to read deals (just got the car loan secured an hour ago). I promise I'm a helper when someone needs guidance (ask Ank) Wink PM's are totally expected and appreciated.

I'm trying real hard to stick to a lower carb diet but this cold weather just screams for warm comforting carb rich food like this.

Not very good at following or making recipes. I always seem to kind of wing it. But here is a pretty good approximation of how I make it.

The ingredients include:
6 slices of bacon
1 Large Sauteed Onion (cut to size of ones choosing)
1 can of chicken stock
1-2 cans of condensed milk
1-2 can cheapest beer you can find (I use Milwaukee's Best)
1 box of Velveeta Pepper Jack Cheese (Diced to melt easier)
1/2 package of cream cheese
3-5 pounds Potatoes - Diced to various sizes

- First fry the bacon and pour the resulting grease into the crock pot. You could also cut and add the bacon or save it for a topping after wards but I personally am not fond of bacon which is why I let my "boys" eat them for breakfast and just use the grease.
- Then I saute the onions in the same frying pan and add them to the crock pot.
- Dice enough potatoes to varying sizes until crock pot is around 2/3rds full.
- Pour in one can of chicken stock
- Then add just enough beer and condensed milk to barely cover the potatoes.
- Stir then place the diced Pepper Jack Cheese on top without stirring again.
- Heat on high for around 2 hours or until well hot, then turn to low and add a half package of cream cheese.
- Once potatoes start to soften use a potato masher to mash some of the potatoes in the crockpot to help thicken the soup.
- Taste and season with additional onion powder and or salt & pepper to taste if necessary.
- The longer the soup cooks the better it is as with many crock pot foods. But with the dairy products it doesn't look too pretty when you first open the lid and needs to be stirred more often and before serving. I also usually end up stirring a bit more beer into it just before serving.

You can also serve with shredded cheese, oyster crackers, bacon bits, diced green onions or such stuff if wanted.
