9.0 Earthquake near Honshu Japan; Major Tsunami hits Japan (((related news stories in post 515)))

They are expecting a Tsunami of up to 10 feet high. Buildings were shaken in Tokyo, no word yet on damage. It was only 15 miles deep and 81 miles east of Honshu.

come on, even in the u.s. after 9/11, authorities made claims of how the debris plumes/smoke were ok, and safe enough to not evacuate...of course, common sense would indicate otherwise. now folks have directly related health conditions

it sounds like they were unable to maintain the power plant and that the #1 core overheated and exploded… the reports of an actual meltdown are unconfirmed but they have confirmed that there was an explosion and they have evacuated a much larger area as a result…. 4 workers were injured in the explosion around 3:30 local time….

Cnn reporting 9500 people missing from Minamisanriku. Have a friends whose family is missing from the area. Family does not own transportation so she is thinking that none of them made it.
