The Japan Meteorological Agency said today that a 7.0 magnitude quake was likely within the next three days [cnn.com], as increased tectonic activity has been reported.
I'd like to read more about it, but I can't find where it says that.

Unrelated, but, if you sort by date added, [youtube.com] RT has some amazing user-submitted videos of people watching the waves come in.
At the very end of one of the videos, there's a house that gets moved and is at quite an angle. Then you can see the occupants come out onto the balcony. Frown

The worst may not be over. There's a high chance of a magnitude-7.0 quake or above in the next three days because of increased tectonic activity, the earthquake prediction department chief for the Japan Meteorological Agency said Sunday.

For two days, he tried to get the attention of helicopters and ships that passed by - to no avail.

Finally, today, a Japanese military vessel spotted the desperate man waving a red cloth.

He was about 10 miles offshore from the earthquake-ravaged city of Minamisoma, said Yoshiyuki Kotake, a Defense Ministry spokesman.

Shinkawa told his rescuers that the tsunami hit as he and his wife returned home to gather some belongings after Friday's quake. His wife was swept away, Kotake said.

i am actually thiking that this might help the economy because there will be a lot of infrastructure that needs to be rebuilt, japan has been in a huge recession and hopefully this will spur "Big Works" style economic recovery for them.

I dont know that cost of electronics will rise because i think that most production is still done in china but i am not in any way truely knowledgeable
The problem with that is that the government can't afford these Big Works programs.

They're expecting more seismic activity, so it doesn't surprise me. Hopefully nothing comes of it, though.

It's CNN getting all dramatic again. They have a reporter looking at the water for the Tsunami and talking for five minutes about how he doesn't see it. BBC World Radio actually checked with officials first.

For fifteen minutes after other news agencies reported the tsunami warning was canceled, CNN kept looking for and talking about the incoming tsunami. I'm beginning to think CNN is the news reporting version of Dug the dog from Up. Squirrel! Squirrel!!!!

There was an explosion at Reactor 3. It appears to be a hydrogen explosion, like what happened at the first reactor. They're still downplaying the possibility of radioactive material being released; the container vessel still seems to be intact (or so they say).
