Met a smoking, hot girl

I met a girl this weekend who is dangerously hot, intelligent and just plain fun. The only problem is that she smokes... now I've always said that smoking is an instant turn-off, but I obviously lied to myself, because I'm ridiculously attracted to her.

I've also said I wouldn't want to date a smoker, because they always seem to fall back on cigerettes when they get stressed, and I hate how my clothes end up smelling. Needless to say, I'm considering dating her.

The ironic part is that she's a marathon runner- laugh out loud I guess I'd rather have a smoking, hot marathon runner than a non-smoking, out-of-shape girl.

Thoughts? Am I being stupid?

I can't imagine she smokes all THAT much if she can run 26 miles. I would go out with her and see how things develop.

If things get serious, figure out how to deal with it then.

I ran the Boston marathon and I smoke cloves every so often... but typically only when I drink. I would say I probably smoke 1-2 packs per year.

I've dated two girls who smoked occasionally when I started dating them...but quit all together once they knew how I felt about it. Just don't ever tell them to quit, if they dig you they will do it out of respect....and when you won't kiss them after they smoke.

But I agree...smoking is the biggest turnoff and the nastiest thing a chick can do....outside of eating chocolate cereal.

Definitely ask her out. If she's that hot, it probably won't last long, anyway because someone else will move in on her and you'll eventually get dumped. But at least you can own bragging rights for a little while.

When I was a kid I really wasn't into cars but I HATED the AMC Gremlin ... I would point them out and tell people how ugly I thought they were .... my first car? You guessed it. Embarrassment Years ago when we went for walks in what is now our neighborhood, we pointed and laughed at how stupid people were to build homes in what was once a marsh ....

Should you date her? Hellz ya! This is the way life works, she could be the one - and you just might be "the one" that makes so much difference in her life that you make it better (it's not all just about "you" you know Big Grin ).

I dated a smoker for a number of years. It actually wasn't that bad because she was very considerate about it, smoked out the window, chewed gum, etc. Obviously there was the occasional nasty smoker breath when we kissed, but as long as the girl doesn't outright smoke in her apt I say its ok.

I would not consider this damaging at all. Just don't let the use increase. I think someone that does not smoke yet hangs out iin a real smokey bar on the weekends is doing more damage.

I dated a smoker for a week or so. I couldn't handle it. I literally wanted to yaaaaack when I kissed her. Not that I was going to seriously date her anyway. She was 26 with a 10 year old kid (steeerike 1), a smoker (steeeerike 2), and an ex-stripper (steeerike 3 looking....sit down). Not to mention she was easier to get in bed than a hammered sorority girl.

Hit it and Quit it. If you can't hit it after a few dates, move on. After you hit it (in this case because of the smoking), then quit it.

I wouldn't worry about this too much. If she's that hot, she probably only hooked up with you because she was drunk. You'll never see her again.
