There's always this time of year -- around the end of september or beginning of october -- where there is a distinct smell in the air right after dusk. About 5 minutes after the sun has gone down but while there is still light in the sky there is this smell of those portable bathrooms like they have at concerts. I've been told it's the leaves starting to decay, but I don't know.
