I'm a professional with a degree in a salaried position with a fortune 500 company. There's something fundamentally wrong with having 3 bosses all of whom say that unless we work through our lunch we need to stay 10 hours a day instead of 9.

boss doesn't care what i do as long as i put in my 8 hours
And when we inquire as to whether or not our wages are competitive, they tell us we are inline with other professionals in the same positions in the area. They don't worry about the pesky little fact that the company I work for bases it's salary on a 45 - 50 hour week instead of a 40 hour week.
They use to call it Salary Plus until the fed caught on to it. Now they just say take it or leave it.
I have a half hour for lunch. I prefer that so I don't have to leave during rush hour traffark.
