March 18, 2011, 3:13 am: System Notice: This thread content has been automatically archived from another thread which reached post limit, and will be preserved for reference and archival purposes. The discussion should continue in the original thread

Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

WOW! The news footage of the tsunami is absolutely incredible. It looks like it is happening quite slowly, but the force of the water is huge...overtaking land, buildings, cars, everything. There are several tsunami warning sirens on the coast here, and there will be a watch in effect for later this morning.

Because of the moon thing it will really mess with the tides to begin with. I remember the last time the moon was in this phase the tides were so low in Seattle that every one was out at the beach looking for geoyducks. So good!! Best clam chowder I ever made!!! They look funny though!! LMAOLMAO

We are inland enough here that the only effect from a tsunami would be at high tide, possibly water surging up the rivers. But we work in Ocean Shores, which is a little town on a peninsula on the beach, built on sand. A wave like the ones seen on the news tonight could wipe out the entire area. One road in and out...several tsunami sirens, signs all over to head for higher ground.

There is no warning now, but a watch...something to keep in mind before heading for work later today.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people in Japan...

Welfare Office: A woman walks into the downtown welfare office, trailed by 15 kids.
'WOW,' the social worker exclaims, 'are they all yours?"
' Yep, they are all mine,' the flustered mom sighs, having heard that question a thousand times before.
She says, 'Sit down Leroy.' All the children rush to find seats.
Well,' says the social worker, 'then you must be here to sign up. I'll need all your children's names.'
''Well, to keep it simple, the boys are all named Leroy and the girls are all named Leighroy."
In disbelief, the case worker says, 'Are you serious? They're ALL named Leroy?'
Their mom replied, 'Well, yes-it makes it easier. When it's time to get them out of bed and ready for school, I yell, 'Leroy!' An' when it's time for dinner, I just yell 'Leroy!' An they all comes a runnin. An' if I need to stop the kid who's running into the street, I just yell Leroy' and all of them stop. It's the smartest idea I ever had, namin' them all Leroy.'
The social worker thinks this over for a bit, then wrinkles her forehead and says tentatively, 'But what if you just want ONE kid to come, and not the whole bunch?'
'Then I call them by their last names.'

I BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT ONE COMING...LOL

You live about 15 minutes away from the beach, on higher ground? Are there warnings there (west coast), or for Hawaii at present?

There have been so many earthquakes all over the planet lately.
