Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

Those of us in Alaska old enough to remember the '64 quake (9.3 magnitude; also in March) shiver at the news of the quake in Japan with resultants tsunami effects round the world! Our quake unfortunately produced a tsunami that took the lives of 11 people in Crescent City, CA. Once you've lived through a horrendous quake you never forget. For me, every tremor no matter how small scares the heck out of me - because I know the potential is there to get bigger. Prayers abound.Pray

Crescent City just got pounded again today too....major destruction to harbor and boats. At least the people in town had enough of a warning to get to high ground so no reported lives lost....

The coasts that Gary and I are close to just saw swells 2 to 6 feet higher then normal....but the beaches, harbors and such are still shut down as a precaution...

I'm 5 miles inland at an elevation of 43 feet above sea level, so my family is safebounce

I hope all of the people affected by the quake/tsunami are able to recover quickly from the pain and loss....
