Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

We are suppose to have snow here too! Not much I don't think. We had a couple 70 degree days last week. Way too early to think about planting in this area yet.

I know alot of you guys have pets and seem too love animals. Anyone a bird watcher? Bald Eagle to be specific?
Welcome to the FF.wave Love observing birds here in the north country. I live in a downtown area and am always thrilled when an Eagle soars by or lands in the tree in my front yard. Others here in the winter are chickadees, bohemian waxwing, ravens, magpies (nasty!). Crazy as it sounds am looking forward to the arrival of the seagulls - here it's one of our surest signs of Spring! Then will come the finches and woodhatches.

we had about 2 weeks of really warm70-80. I got my tomato's and radishes in. rest are in garage for safe keeping. Usually don't start until first week of April; may be redoing the radishes.

Hi all, talking about snow, I'm sitting here now watching it come down. Been off and on all day, but is finally starting to stick. Haven't listened to the weather to see how much we are suppose to get. I'm soooooo sick of snow this year.

Okey Dokey - it's now after 5 o'clock here--YAY! All this talk of planting is giving me that very pre-mature urge! We've still got quite a bit of snow, the gound's still frozen. Our "safe" time for planting in the ground is end of May. I did start some gladiola bulbs in containers the other day, will transplant probably in June. This has been a quite delightful afternoon here at FF. I peeked in at the "other" place and backed out as quickly as I could!

Oh bummer, I sure do know how you feel. Have always wanted to come to your neck of the woods. Drove through Cheyenne briefly back in the early '90's. Enjoyed what I saw.

I bet you are. We got lucky here, got more snow last year than this but lot colder longer here. The snow line stopped about Fredericksburg which is 45 minutes north of me--so there and up through DC (another hour north) got hammered. I cook on the weekends for two elderly couples and made them some nice cabbage and noodles and some apple cinn. bread so hopefully that will keep them warm.

Jakava - those kinds of "oops" are accepted when made by us newbies. I just did one myself that I didn't know I was doing. As you've already discovered this is a warm and friendly group. We're trying the best we can and they're patientSmilie

At this time of year we all complain about the snow - no matter where we are. Often times we hear about Montana getting more than we do! You did get that right about the mosquitoes - we go through a lot of bug repellant and citronella candles in the summer, especially if it's a wet one.
