Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

I won one too, and have a screen shot, but no email either. Frown
I think it was jawartman that won and got the email. She gave me the email address of the administrator of the contest ([email protected]). I emailed them, but have not received a response. Frown
Thank you, I will just wait and see if it comes in the mail, if not no big deal.

Anyone watching the basketball games? Late two games should be pretty good but I am so glad that Marquette game is over against UNC. Was painful to watch.

Okey Dokey - it's now after 5 o'clock here--YAY! All this talk of planting is giving me that very pre-mature urge! We've still got quite a bit of snow, the gound's still frozen. Our "safe" time for planting in the ground is end of May. I did start some gladiola bulbs in containers the other day, will transplant probably in June. This has been a quite delightful afternoon here at FF. I peeked in at the "other" place and backed out as quickly as I could!

Oh bummer, I sure do know how you feel. Have always wanted to come to your neck of the woods. Drove through Cheyenne briefly back in the early '90's. Enjoyed what I saw.
We can't plant here until the end of may, early June also. My girlfriend has tomatoes. pumpkins, gladiolas and a few other things started in pots under a light. They will have tomatoes on them by the beginning of may. Its the only way to get a decent tomato crop around here, start them early under lights. You don't have to buy an expensive grow light, fluorescent shop lights will suffice.

Jakava - those kinds of "oops" are accepted when made by us newbies. I just did one myself that I didn't know I was doing. As you've already discovered this is a warm and friendly group. We're trying the best we can and they're patientSmilie
I really like patience in people LOL even though I don't seem to have an over abundanceSmilie

Well that's really impressive as you can get fresh vegs early. I know I grew up with a large garden and keep one now for my family and the people I cook for. They love the fresh stuff and always have new things for me to do with it.

Nothing like a BLT sandwich (or any other sandwich) with garden tomatoes, those store bought tomatoes have no taste!! Without starting indoors, we would not have a tomato until end of august at best. Not watching basketball, the World Champion SF Giants are playing baseball and if I put on basketball, my girlfriend would not be very happy.EEK!

Will you come and cook for me and my hubby? I really do not enjoy cooking - I am so NON-creative. Whoever it is you cook for besides your family I'm sure are VERY grateful for your kindness. And to be able to keep two gardens - this is super!

I don't know how I got started in it over two years ago now. Have a friend I hang out with and we go to his fathers about 2 hours north on the river often and I started taking stuff there for him and his live companion. Both couples went to church together and both spouses passed within months of each other so she moved in with him (separate rooms and the talk of the church gossip) but they get each other through and it's nice. Then a woman down the road from them started having problems and she got added to the list. Least the eat well. There are 3 days a week they are on their own for soup, sandwich or whatever and I cover 4 for each then drive it up there.

It really is rewarding and they get all excited over the littlest things. Thankfully, only salt issues which I don't cook much with as I like herbs and spices, no diabetics like my grandfather whom I cook for when I go there. There is a website called allrecipes.com which is a godsend for stuff!!

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh - you have a halo and wings. A kazillion kudos to you! I much prefer cooking with herbs and spices as well; I have a real aversion (sp?) to salt - can't stand the stuff. Funny thing, when I was "cooking" for my elderly Dad I had to give him a salt shaker and say "have at it" - his doc said his sodium level was low (he did say it was a naturally occurring elderly thing and not just because I didn't use salt in cooking - made me feel better). Bottom line here is - what you're doing is the greatest. Thanks for the recipe website; I'll check it out.
