March 29, 2011, 3:13 am: System Notice: This thread content has been automatically archived from another thread which reached post limit, and will be preserved for reference and archival purposes. The discussion should continue in the original thread

Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Darn.... In their FYI section:
Is smoking permitted on the train and in the hotel rooms?
To ensure the preservation of the fragile environment of the areas in which we travel and for the comfort of all guests and employees, there is no smoking onboard Rocky Mountaineer. This includes the vestibules between the coaches and restroom facilities. The hotels do have limited smoking rooms available so please make sure you indicate your preference to the reservations or travel agent when you book your tour.

LOL. I just don't understand why the train companies can't add on a caboose where you could go for a smoke. Makes no sense to me.

I got 2 samples today - the Purina dog food and the sinus bottle and samples of saline. I also got a phone call from Bass Pro Shops - they said I "won" 2 trips to Florida, Las Vegas or a cruise. I have a year to decide. I was driving and could not keep talking on my cell and asked them to call me back after 6 tonight. What worries me is that they said it will just be $259 and that was when I had to hang up. This is not a win, right? Anything win does not cost money. I am waiting for them to call. did anyone else get a call like this? I asked if I could just have the Bass Pro gift certificates (they said something about $50) and they said no. Any ideas? Thanks.

Cowboy

The last time I rode on a train it was from Seattle to Whitefish, Montana at night. It was in mid-August during the Perseid meteor showers, and I got a terrific show from the observation car. One of the conductors was bored, and befriended me, (flirting) and took me to the caboose, where we stood outside smelling the night mountain air, and probably smoked a cigarette too. But that was in the early 1980's, and I believe you could smoke inside the train back then.

It's a TIME SHARE thing!!! I went into the Bass Pro Shops in Las Vegas and ALMOST got hooked into it.....

They tell you that the $259 is a deposit and you get it back in BASS PRO GIFT CARDS if you follow thru 100% on the fine print.....(like a 90min "presentation")

Air fare IS NOT included, but if you live close to one of the locations it's not a bad deal....but STILL NOT FREE!!

Hope that helps a littleWink
