One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

I watched The Fighter last night. Decent, but didn't live up to the hype IMO. Although Christian Bale's performance really was outstanding. It wasn't a bad movie...just nothing great.

"Black Dynamite" - A really goofy Blaxploitation spoof film with tons of kung-fu. Tons of quotable lines in it.
It reminded me a bit of "Hollywood Shuffle" from back in the 80s. I have to admit that I sort of liked it.

"The Last Emperor" - Good flick.

Case 39 2.5/5 - Interesting movie, another not so innocent little girl movie. laugh out loud
Let Me In 2.5/5 - an interesting movie. But reminds me so much of the not so innocent girl type movies again.
My Soul to Take 2/5 - I don't remember this movie and I just saw it last week. LMAO Oh right, after youtubing the trailor. The Ripper story, the wind down of the story was a bit confusing... Crazy
The Next Three Days 2/5 - About a husband being obsessed about getting his wife out of prison. It was boring to a point, not much going on.
Battle: Los Angeles 3.5/5 - Good movie, not much plot to it, the effects weren't too shabby either. I think the movie hit home with showing how much the marines, army and those serving our nation sacrifice for our country and the people. worship I'd get into detail but don't want to spoil it for others. Stick Out Tongue

Boring!? Not much going on!? Wow. Saw it the other night and thought it was one of the best films I've seen in a long time. I would've cut the last scene with the detectives where they try to explain why and how the wife got sent to prison and it wasn't believable at all.

Ronin sounds better. I've seen DDA and it was okay for a movie of that era.

Ronin is a crime film that focuses on action sequences. Dog Day Afternoon is a crime film (sort of) that focuses on character development. FWIW.

Rango- Excellent film. It's almost in line with Japanese animations and focuses a lot more on the character then comedy. There are some funny moments but it does have some serious undertones. Definitely not for younger kids. 9/10
