My dad was telling me how his friend's daughter married a white guy and their kid looks white even though his mom is dark haired and dark skinned. Anyhoo...she went to Mexico with her little boy and they took him away from her because they said that couldn't be her son. They sued the border patrol and they settled and they got at least a couples Gs.

Doh

I meant lightning
My mom looks like a typical Irish person with red hair, pale as fark skin and green eyes so a lot of people don't believe I'm her daughter when they first meet me laugh out loud

I got one lightning picture but its kind of crappy and part of the bolt looks like a spermie Ermm

I definitely understand what you mean.

And I will not call your dad a gypsy when I meet him.

I have a question. It's semi-related to this thread but also applies to Woot-Offs.

How do you guys keep up with the new posts in each of these threads that move pretty fast?

Here's what I do:
  • Make a bookmark of the thread & append "&goto=newpost" at the end. Example.
  • I click the bookmark, and it will automatically take me to the first unread post.
  • When I find a post I want to reply to, I middle-click or (CMD/Ctrl-Click if I don't have mouse plugged in) on the "Reply" to open in a new tab and submit my post.
  • I continue doing this until I've read all of the posts and replied to the ones I wanted to reply to.
  • I click the Bookmark again to refresh with the most recent posts.

Is this the best way to do it? I want to hear from the pros (Mal, Kair, PTSG, jme, etc).

Whenever I post in a thread, it adds that thread to my list of Subscriptions. You can see threads that you're subscribed to in the User CP, and they show up there whenever there is a new post. I follow all my "regular threads" via my User CP. I just click the button that takes me to the newest unread post.

If none of my subscribed threads are active at the time, then I just browse the Lounge for something else to post in, or I look through Hot Deals for something to spend money on. laugh out loud

My workflow is something like this:

-Have main thread open
-Two finger click on "reply" to open in new tab

It goes two ways from here. If I'm already in the conversation, I'll just continue from that tab and scroll up to see if I missed anything.

If I'm just joining the conversation, I'll close the tab and continue from where I left off in the beginning. Multi-touch is where I save a lot of time scrolling and right clicking.

I occasionally use multiquote, but more often than not I'll just have a queue of reply tabs open that I just go through.

So every thread you post in gets added to your subscriptions? How do you keep up with all those? Do you unsub after a while?

I still think that the Woot-off thread moves to fast to use the UserCP. Every time I refresh there would be a new post...

I don't post in that many new threads for it to be a hassle. And once the thread dies off and there's no new posts, it doesn't pop up in the list of new Subscribed threads, so it's not like I see it sitting there. And sometimes threads go crazy and I just don't care to participate and/or read all the posts, so I unsubscribe.

Yes, the Woot-Off thread does move too fast for this method, and I usually keep the Woot-Off thread open in another tab in order to refresh and see what's being posted. laugh out loud

Ahh, I see. Two Finger tap will just bring up the Right-Click menu, right? This is why I try to use Cmd-Click or Middle Click whenever I can, but I do love the Multitouch trackpad for scrolling so I rarely have a mouse plugged in at home.

Your strategy seems to make sense. This is also how you catch all of the Ninja-edits because you open in a new tab as opposed to using quick reply. By the time you use quick-reply, they could have changed their post and the Ninjaedit is already there. Also, you don't need to refresh that often because when you Reply you're essentially refreshing the page.

Gotcha. What would be ideal for me is if they could implement SD-live but only for your subscribed threads. I think that would be kick-ass.
