That's what I am hoping for. Last night I cooked some Snapps Cream Cheese Pepper Bites. Holy Balls... of fire. None of us ate them. We have had other jalapeno bites and liked them. I make stuffed jalapenos occasionallydrool and we love them. But these suckers burned all the way down and didn't stop.

Oh wow, you came from the Old Navy thread? Many of those people ended up driving me nuts! I was with the thread when it began and did get many awesome coupons. I can not believe how long that promo went and how HUGE the thread became. I know SD got a lot of new members too. It was pretty easy to quickly score the big Qs until the hacks began to get them. DH still has a new pair of jeans that he has never worn that I got with one of those coupons. Did you get the one that was coded wrong, and took $100 off $100, instead of the $75 that it said? I managed one of those. Teehee
Man I tried so hard to score some ON coupons on that thread. I got one near the beginning and felt lucky to get in on that one. After that the thread exploded and I got lost in the mess. I never thought it was easy to score the big Qs, my computer was to slow, I missed them every time. And they always seemed to go live when I was not online.

Why don't you live near me???? Too bad shipping is so dang expensive. I have a bunch of Crest Pro Health mint toothpaste that I would love to trade someone for the Cinnamon. Think of the fun we could all have if the post office had free shipping codes! laugh out loud

I have decided what I am making... sort of. I have looked at a few of the soup recipes using the Santa Fe sauce and I'm not making any of them. LMAO But I am going to do something similar. I have boneless skinless chicken thighs in the pressure cooker right now. When they are done I wills shred or chunk them and I should have a couple cups of nice chicken broth. I'll add cream and the cooking sauce and go from there.

I don't know how spicy/flavorful the sauce is. I may add a can of chili beans. I'm not crazy about beans either, but a few in the soup are fine and it will add a thing to the soup -- not just flavor but a chunk. Or I may puree a can of tomatoes (with or without chilies). We had chili dogs for supper last night (hmmm, this could be redundant, that didn't occur to me til I typed that). I have part of a can of chili with no beans in the fridge I could throw in. I have red and green peppers in the freezer but if I start tossing too much in there they aren't going to eat it.

Then I'll make corn bread to go with it.

I still have 7 little bitty cans of tomato paste.
That would be sweet if we lived closer. Dang shipping killing the deal. Maybe one of these days the PO will put out a coupon, I hear couponing is the new trend. I still have about 15 of those little bitty cans of paste left.

Are the peppers in the freezer the bagged kind or did you freeze them yourself? We do like the TGIF that have the frozen peppers in them but I had never thought of freezing fresh peppers.

I did them. I try to pick them up when they are cheap or marked down because they are old and I tried to get some red, yellow, or orange too just for the pretty factor. I clean and slice them then lay them on a cookie sheet and freeze them. Then I dump them in gallon baggies. If I need diced peppers for something they snap into little pieces really nicely. I just break them right into the pan.

I can't get poblano peppers locally so every now and then I will grab a couple when I am out of town if I think I might want them. If I don't use them, I just throw those in the freezer whole.

Soup is made and in the crock pot on warm. I had about 2 cups of really nice chicken broth and shredded about a pound of the chicken. Dumped in the Philly, 1 cup of Half & Half, and a bag of Kraft Mexican with a Touch of Philly shredded cheese. Oh my. It's good. It is thin so if you prefer thicker, if would need thickened.

Progresso makes a Chicken Cheese Enchilada soup and this taste very much like it. I loved that soup and they quit making it --- was what I was going to say. Then I went to search and it looks like they might be making it again. It also happens to be one of the Carb Monitor soups.

Oh man, that Thomas coupon. My son's collection came mostly from that coupon. nod

And Rachael (I think it was you, or Nikayla, forgot to multiquote), I started out on mycoupons, too! So funny. Maybe we were there at the same time. Another one of my favorites was pinchingyourpennies. They were mainly based in UT, but they were a good starting place for me. They had a wishing well, where they would open the well for a limited amount of time. You would send your wishlist from their coupon list, and if you were one of the lucky ones, you would get an envelope full of coupons. Pretty cool. nod That was when I first got into getting coupons other than printing from my computer and the one newspaper I got every Sunday. Kind of mushroomed from there. Big Grin

Any of you use My Points? About how long does it usually take to get a gift card? I need a bracket for my fish finder. Was going to use My Points toward an Amazon GC but Bass Pro Shop costs less points and price is about the same. And neither one has free shipping.Frown

came to post quick warning/heads up for those of you that bought crest 3d toothpaste anywhere - use at your peril!!

so i couldn't find our regular crest toothpaste but had a couple of tubes of 3d from a cvs promo. so i pulled one out about 3 weeks ago. past couple of weeks my mouth has been feeling sore and achy, then last week i started noticing bright red inflamed patches on my gums. i thought did i eat something very hot and burn my mouth with it? couldn't figure it out. the red areas kept getting worse, and couple of days ago i developed a giant bulbous inflamed section near one of my molars and major inflammation upfront, and i can see burst/bleeding capillaries through the thin skin. plus my gums have been bleeding considerably.

worried, i called the doc.

she asked if i'd changed anything in my oral care routine. took me a long while to realize and then i said oh yeah, i started using a different flavor crest toothpaste. she was quiet for a moment, then she said is it crest 3d? i said yes. and she told me stop immediately saying several people have had reactions to the paste. EEK!

did a google search - sure enough, people are complaining of very similar things: red sores in the mouth, inflammation, bleeding, irritated gums.

my mouth feels so sore right now and my gums are burning.

so, if you have these in your stockpile, might want to throw em in the trash or take em back to the store if you have a rcpt.

Same for my Starbucks cards! FYi, Coconut syrup returns in early May with a line-up of specialty drinks. Starbucks is so boring with their syrup choices, I wish they would keep coconut in the lineup, or add more flavors.

Here is the tips so far from the therapist for those interested:

1. You are the boss, not the child.
2. Too much talking is a bad thing.
3. Start with one rule at a time.
4. Let them know your expectations.
5. Don't put them in "jail"

1. You are the boss. Get that through your head. YOU ARE THE BOSS. The child is the child and you run the house. If you allow the child to manipulate you, you've lost control and you are no longer the boss.

2. Too much talking is a bad thing. You know, a lot of books say that if you discipline your child, and their discipline time is up, you should get down on their level and explain why they were put in time-out, what you want them to do right, and that you still love them. A. they know what they did wrong B. they know what is right and C. they know you love them. There is no need to go through that each and ever time you discipline your child.

3. Start with one rule at a time. Right now, our first rule is: Respect Others. It's simply put but covers a very broad area of things from not hitting, to sharing, to giving each other space. We have a big thick paper board thing and I bought markers to write on it. I will post pics of it once it is done. It's simply "Rules" and it will be hung in our living room by the TV so they always have access to seeing it. Seeing it makes it more real, even if they can't read it. Because we will discuss it and involve them in it by asking them what "respect others" means to them. Obviously the answers we get will vary because of age and maturity but it's a starting point.

4. Let them know your expectations. What do you expect out of your child? Start with the most important. I expect you to respect others. I expect you to be courteous and use your manners. I expect you to remain calm and go to your room if you feel overwhelmed or angry. If you make it complicated, they stop listening. I don't expect tanner to clean his room or make his bed every morning. I expect him to say "thank you" if someone helps him or gives him something. Eventually (way down the road) those expectations will go up. Remember to keep it simple.

5. Don't put them in "jail." The therapist suggested (for safety and behavioral reasons) that we should remove everything from Tanner's room that might be a danger to himself. So we took out his TV, his DVD player, all his toys, including his bed frame. All he has is his mattress on the floor, his pillow, and his blanket. He can have a stuffed animal if he choses but he doesn't want one. Reason being, when tanner is feeling aggressive and acting violent, his room is his "safe place" and his "calm place." That is where he will go to throw his fit, to calm down, and to think. A lock will be installed on the outside of the door because it's irrational to think that we can physically hold it shut when he's extremely angry. He's a very strong little boy and mix that with some adrenaline and you've got a problem. Lots of times parents want to take away cell phones, laptops, and other things for too long of a time. "You didn't clean your room like I asked you to so you lose your cell phone for 2 weeks." Is that reasonable? Not really. Take it away for 1 day and tell them you EXPECT them to clean their room to EARN that phone back. If they clean it, they get it back. Next time, keep it longer, but don't make it excessive. Most kids that have cell phones are at a functioning maturity that taking their phone away for 5 minutes is the end of the world. lol

So here's how it played out last night.

It was bedtime and we asked all of them to go to bed. River was already in bed, makena went up to her room, Ambree to her room, and Tanner to his room. When he got into his room, he realized there was nothing in there but a mattress, pillow, and blanket. He wanted his TV. So he came downstairs demanding his TV. I told him that he would have to earn the priviledge of having his TV placed back into his room. (same with his DVD player, his bed frame..etc) He was outraged. He started to scream and kick and throw a fit. Charles immediately picked him up and carried him to his room. He proceeded to scream, yell, cuss, kick the walls, throw around his pillow, and even ripped the closet bar that holds his clothes out of the wall. He used it to puncture a hole in the ajoining wall before charles was able to get it away from him. Not a word was said from us the entire time but tanner proceeded to carry on. I'm sure the neighbors heard his ranting and raving. I went upstairs and sent charles downstairs. The deal was for us: charles could carry him to his room (he's so heavy) and I would sit by the door. So I sat there and listened to him scream about his bed, scream about his tv, and carry on. Sometimes he'd calm down then he'd get all flustered again and scream. I didn't say a word. I sat there for about 45 minutes before he finally stopped crying. I waited 2 more minutes and opened the door and he was sound asleep in his bed.

It worked.

So, tonight, we will have our family "Rules" meeting where we talk about what having respect for others' means. I want their input because I want them to fully understand what we are getting at. The same rule(s) apply to my girls (even River, she's 18 months old) as they do to tanner. We will all respect each other. I have the respect not to yell, they have the respect not to hit or hurt each other. (or be destructive)..etc.

Tanner will get his TV back tonight after the meeting. He will understand that if he has another outburst, he will lose his TV. If he cannot follow our basic rule of "respect others" then he loses a priviledge. Eventually, over many weeks, he will get the idea. They all will.

So I know that was super long but I hope it helps someone. I'll update with more things as we go through the process. She actually gave me a paper that lists some things. I'll type that up tonight if I get a chance.

Wave Yup that was me!! I don't remember pinchingyour pennies but I was thinking back and remember that that time was before google Shocking and I used some kind of alta vista search engine to find everything then. So much easier now nod

I just had the one paper, too. My only hoard *ahem* stockpile then was Target toys that had gone 90% off.

I was rjasimmons on mycoupons but I think I tried logging in there years back and it said not valid so IDK what happened to me over there laugh out loud

GG - you have the worst luck, you really do. 3D is the only thing my entire family uses. Well, the 5 that have teeth anyway. And my mom and her husband use it, too I believe. Brother & SIL are still working their way through the 20 tubes of Pro Health I gave them for Christmas Teehee
