worship Thank you for typing this up. Reading about your ordeal last night made me cry. He sounds like he's got a lot of emotions that he doesn't yet know how to handle. I think you are such a terrific mom for getting help like this and for seeing it through. It has to be very hard on the rest of your family especially after a big move and new school, etc. You are a damn champ and don't ever think any different.

I'm going to use this outline TONIGHT to try to turn things around with the people that live here. So much fighting and most of it is fundamentally a lack of respect. If it can work for little Tanner, then I think it can work for a mouthy pre-teen too. I'll hang a rules chart in her room after our meeting and see how she likes that program. laugh out loud

Thank you again for sharing your journey with us. hug

Dreeme, hug to you and your family. That list sounds like a great place to start, especially that first one. Actually, I was thinking it reminded me of Super Nanny. Is that show still on? Anyway, I didn't agree with everything she did, but mostly she was spot on.

Jaden has definitely showed improvement throughout the day. I was so worried, especially around naptime, because it just seemed like he was still in too much pain. But I think the cause was twofold: his tummy was upset after eating a full meal (and candy afterwards) for the first time in several days; and he didn't really feel like sleeping. Once he was settled on the couch watching Kipper, he was fine.

I tell ya, for a child that has been comparatively healthy in his five short years, he has more than made up for it this week. I do not like seeing him sick, and I am so happy to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Dreeme - hug hug hug

I think I've fallen into #2 with my toddler... tooooo much talking.

Well, Mavis is finally hovering at 101 for a temp. She is acting and looking better, but still sleepy and clingy. This morning, I got up and sent DH off to work. I started to make a cup of coffee and my oldest said, "Mom, you look bad. Do you need some more sleep?" I said, "eh... I'll be okay. Just gotta get some coffee..." She said, "Why don't you just go back to bed. I can watch the girls." So I trudged upstairs before she or I could change our minds! She came up with Mavis about 30 minutes later so I nursed the baby, put her down for a nap, and passed out. Mavis woke up about an hour after that and I nursed her in bed with me and we both passed out again. Overall, I slept for around 3 hours this morning. I felt like I could've gone another round of 8 - *laugh* - but it was great.

TM4D - hug I hope it goes much faster than that...

Dazzled - yay on the new kitchen... and you should probably just ask in here what the deals are so that you don't have to go to that other thread... Big Grin

Good evening everyone Wave

My DH is feeling much better today.. Day #5 since his wisdom teeth removal and he was eating *almost* normal. We went on a date and I had steak, but he didn't think he was ready for that, so he got chicken and did fine with it.
My 13 yo is doing okay from his oral surgery today.. The boy is skinny as a rail but has a huge appetite and the poor thing was starving all day. Drinking liquids just doesn't work for him. He jumped right into some pasta tonight and then called me when I was out telling me how hungry he was. I gave in and went by chick fila and got him some soup and a big milkshake.. he scarfed them both down the minute I got home.. He isn't actually having too much pain either. Wouldn't surprise me if he tried to dive right back into regular food tomorrow Dontknow
Didn't make it to target today.. Hoping to get by tomorrow and look for the cars and incredibles movies.. need to add a few more things to our collection..

TM4D - hope your visit tomorrow goes quicker than expected and painless hug

Ank - glad your DD let you nap today.. Sometimes having older kids at home during the day is wonderful heart Hope Mavis is better soon!

Flug - Glad to hear your DS is better.. Did you ever get the antibiotics, or you decided to wait it out?

Dazzled - A new kitchen sounds exciting.. pics please Blowkiss

Dreeme - sounds like you guys have a good plan in place and are starting to work it.. Hoping you see progress soon! hug

Well, I am off to compile some coupons for a quick Publix run in the morning.. I have CPR class and am hoping to hit Publix after class..

Goodnight Smilie

l2b - that is great that your son is ready to eat already - and I bet hubby is glad he's doing better too! My DD is just now starting to try some solids - taking it pretty slow. She's been living on ensure, milkshakes, smoothies, and yogurt!

Older kids are a huge blessing. Not sure what I'd do without my 14 y.o. In fact, I'm almost wondering what will happen once she is off on her own. Frown

Speaking of dental problems... I'm still having tooth pain. Frown Ugh. DH says to go get it yanked, but I haven't brought myself to that point yet. Plus, I think they want cash up front. Got other medical bills to pay first. Faint

The worst thing about all of this is that my brain is pretty well fried. I can't remember things from one moment to the next, forget a gazillion things each day, etc... I will be very glad to be back to normal. Well, somewhat normal. Me normal.

If WM is any indication of pricing at T, then they are $3.XX. Seems kind of expensive in my opinion. I'm hoping for a good deal soon.

I met another SDer today! Luvs2savemomma and I met at a T near her, and did some shopping. She is a super sweet person and I can't wait until we can meet up again. Yahoo! So far, the SDers I've met have been wonderful people, like cvs4ever. Stick Out Tongue

Hopefully sometime, I can meet up with some other ladies from here at TCC. I was sad that I wasn't able to meet up with 4BB when we were in Charleston a few months ago.

came to post quick warning/heads up for those of you that bought crest 3d toothpaste anywhere - use at your peril!!

so i couldn't find our regular crest toothpaste but had a couple of tubes of 3d from a cvs promo. so i pulled one out about 3 weeks ago. past couple of weeks my mouth has been feeling sore and achy, then last week i started noticing bright red inflamed patches on my gums. i thought did i eat something very hot and burn my mouth with it? couldn't figure it out. the red areas kept getting worse, and couple of days ago i developed a giant bulbous inflamed section near one of my molars and major inflammation upfront, and i can see burst/bleeding capillaries through the thin skin. plus my gums have been bleeding considerably.

worried, i called the doc.

she asked if i'd changed anything in my oral care routine. took me a long while to realize and then i said oh yeah, i started using a different flavor crest toothpaste. she was quiet for a moment, then she said is it crest 3d? i said yes. and she told me stop immediately saying several people have had reactions to the paste. EEK!

did a google search - sure enough, people are complaining of very similar things: red sores in the mouth, inflammation, bleeding, irritated gums.

my mouth feels so sore right now and my gums are burning.

so, if you have these in your stockpile, might want to throw em in the trash or take em back to the store if you have a rcpt.
I had the same problem last year. Every time I would brush my mouth would hurt soooooo bad! Then I realized I switched tp, I stopped using it and my mouth stopped hurting!

a couple yrs ago the inside of my mouth was peeling off constantly after using crest pro-health. googled it and people were complaining of brown stains on the teeth that wouldn't come off and the peeling.

allegedly one of the chemicals is toxic to oral mucosa, hence the peeling. threw alway all my pro-health, day and nite.

haven't used crest since then but that's been more of a function of no good deals w/ coupons and target giving me free colgate.

i've been trying to stay away from triclosan that's in colgate total and it's very difficult. cvs only sells colgate total in various formulations, colgate clinical that i can't get free and colgate sensitive which you shouldn't use more than a month at a time and really only if you have sensitive teeth.
