The "If it fits, it ships" line for the Post Office has.to.go. I was told today that I overfilled my 4.95 envelope. It closed fine. PO personnel said that they are cracking down on overfilled envelopes. It fit, so it shipped. I don't see the problem (but he continued to say that the person receiving may in the future have to pay extra to receive said envelope). Seems to me they need a new slogan then.
It was coupons for the past 2 weeks for the SIL. 8 copies of entire inserts.
Any amount of material (up to 70 pounds) may be mailed in a USPS-produced Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope or Flat Rate Box. When sealing a Flat Rate Envelope or Flat Rate Box, the container flaps must be able to close within the normal folds. Tape may be applied to the flaps and seams to reinforce the container, provided the design of the container is not enlarged by opening the sides and the container is not reconstructed in any way.
My envelope clearly fit within the standards of DMM 123 1.5. Though the package was thicker than if I just mailed a couple papers – it easily closed within the normal folds, the container was not reconstructed in any way. The book was 7.6 x 5.1 x 0.8 inches. And in my opinion the package still resembled an envelope or a box.
The post office showed me a picture of a bulging package to show my package was not acceptable. My package certainly didn't bulge to that extent. And it is difficult to determine from the picture if it is the thickness of the package that makes it unacceptable – or if the envelope has been reconstructed.
Have DMM 123 1.5 standards been changed? Does a flat rate envelope have to be completely flat now? If it doesn't have to be completely flat, what is the new standard of thickness?
It would be nice if the Post Office could publish their new standards for customers to access, rather than keep the old standards, yet have their postal employees reject packages based on their individual opinion of whether they think your package looks more like the flat picture A or the bulging picture B."

Thank you for contacting the United States Postal Service. I apologize for clerk for giving you incorrect information. Here is an update from Headquarters on January 28, 2011.
Mailpieces presented for mailing in USPS produced Flat Rate packaging are NOT required to remain flat to be eligible for flat rate prices. The adhesive strip on the mailpiece MUST be used to seal the flat rate packaging. However, while the glued flap must be able to seal the package before the addition of tape, the mailpiece does not need to remain flat and the Use of tape is permitted along the flaps and seams to reinforce the container provided the design of the container is not enlarged or reconstructed (e.g., opening the sides, extending the flap to make the seal, etc.).

Got some of those ritz crackerfuls 1.50 or $1.00 Q from this weeks SS , two different ss had different amts . T had them for $2.00 yummo !, soooo much better than the standard , (I don't even know what brand ) pb. or cheese crackers. They are 1 long cracker sandwich to a pouch , a little pricey at reg price but 50cents a box not bad for snacks , or lunch boxes. The garloc and herb is good also .
Didn't find much exciting at t this week for me. The allegra is spitting out a $2.00 cat ,nice cashier scanned it for me for a REALLY nice stack.

Our kids are: Kayla (8), Brianna (7), Caleb (6), Kaitlyn (5), Marianna (4), Yasmin (3), Jayden (1) will be 2 in May, Lillianna will be 1 this month in 8 days!!
Kayla is the "perfect" child except she never wants to clean up her mess... Brianna is a hyper, super smart kid... who is always into mischeif, Caleb is a whole 'nother story, he is ALWAYS in trouble in school, he harasses everyone except if he has video game in his hand, Kaitlyn is very passive, loves animals, thinks she is their mommy, loves to help out, all around sweet, Marianna is a little monster in the most petite body, she has you suckered in by her sweet looks, and is an angel until tired... then all hell breaks loose lol, Yasmin is my shadow... she wants to do everything with me... and to kiss me and be just like me. Jayden is a very passive easy going kid... and will eat everything in sight ALL the time. Lillianna is a very sweet easy going baby, she never cries!!
