Just need to assemble the kids baskets tonight...That will be a task because all the goodies that I have been accumulating are hidden in different places, some of which I don't remember
I had so much Easter clearance crap that I sent off a bunch in my niece's bday box last month...a month and a half late on the gift but a month and a half early on Easter.
Butter all rang up as $1.99 *WHEW*

Brain dead today... (everyday really...)
Well, I made it to Kroger. Came out with a Target GC... so I have intentions of shopping at T. Just gotta make it a reality. *laugh*
and add me to the list of those that don't care for Oprah. I feel the same way for any celebrity turned activist. I don't like being preached to by those that are no longer in touch with the average person.
Good idea, I'll add them to the list.
I was able enough to find enough Keurig MQ for 4 envies, the 3 who have PM'ed back with addies are in the mailbox. Enjoy!

Found the Easter crap...3 large Target bags (think bags they put big toys in). I also found that we have 500 sleeping bags

Mini just told me we're out of ranch and mayo/miracle whip. Are there any TQs for this crap? I'm
With my oldest, I was totally on top of it. I was a single parent for many years, so I had to be. I didn't want to be *that* parent with my kid running around like a hellion.
With my 2nd one, DH didn't quite have the early training ideas that I had, so after discussion and his insistence, we delayed training. We've paid for that ever since! She's not completely horrible, but there are definite things that are much harder now because we didn't do them earlier - i.e. sitting when told, immediate obedience without questioning, etc... but, we'll get there - she's still young enough to correct.
Mavis is being trained much like my first one and coming along well. She's learned to lay still during diaper changes (not a big deal on most, but there are those certain dipes that just require letting mom do the dirty work!!), and she's learned when we say "No" or "Don't touch" - that it is exactly what we mean. She's my super fast "I want to stick my finger in the light socket" kid, so we have got to make sure we can stop her from doing stuff before we can reach her - even with her cast on, that girl can move!!
Of course, consistency is ultimate. Let one thing go one time, and you are right back to square one. Oy...
I would suspect that even now your friend could turn around a lot of the behavior and attitude, but it would take some extreme "tomato staking" and a LOT of work. I know it's hard as a parent with one kid at any age - let alone two sets of twins! That would be some major commitment on her end. I have discovered that many folks (and even myself sometimes) are not up to making that kind of determined commitment.
Seriously, though, I'm not that far behind. I just have some laundry to finish up... dipes in the washer and a pile on my bed that needs folding. Yay!!
Which store? I'm trying to muster my energy for a run tonight.
GS went GREAT!!! We made just under $600 and about 90% of the crap is gone. I had a guy to works at a homeless shelter come and buy ALL my soap and deodorant and about 1/2 my toothpaste. He gave me his card and I told him if there are any H&B items left tomorrow I'll call him and he can come and pick them up. I also might call him when we are living in the apt. if I get an good deals and have no room to store them.
In other news... DH had lunch with our #1 builder choice today. We got their bid yesterday and it was just a little higher than what we want to pay, so they're going to work to bring it down and include some of upgrades that we want at the same time. I'm VERY optimistic that we'll have something decided by the beginning of next week.

Not a single person. I did have some one ask if I worked for a dentist because I had so much toothpaste and brushes and floss for sale.

No idea about the Qs, but damn, I wish I could rep you in here for your super multi-tasking abilities.

I've learned that I need to be able to nurse and do a myriad of other things since Noah likes to graze all day. I just got done eating a piece of cheese pizza standing in the kitchen and cleaning up JJ and his high chair after lunch all while nursing.

and just my toughts on the STFC thing. It all started from the Ikea commercial where a woman is running out of the store with all of fabulous finds at reasonable prices and feels like she just robbed the place - all knowing she did not. I love our expression, as well as bug and windsheild.
Guess it is just a TCC insider thing, it takes some 'splainnn for the newbs.

well, it's april and on sunday she asked me if she should hire a private tutor for $50/hr = $200/month. she missed all the group tutoring programs b/c the 3rd grade standardized test is in a few wks.
this summer she enrolled them in an academic summer camp at the state college. wait a minute, she made it out to be so expensive. it's $400/wk. that's the same price as the most expensive wks for our township summer camp which is way cheaper than private camp.
anyway, as you can see, she's busy playing catch-up academically. i can assure you, she is also catching up behavior-wise also. one time i saw the younger one running around in my backyard w/ the neighbor boys in short-shorts and a halter top when it was 50 degrees outside and we still had snow on the ground. i made her go home and change. we found out later through her sister that her grandmother who watches them after school didn't know she went out like that b/c she changed in the garage. in other words, she knew it was wrong and was being sneaky.
now that they are older, it is so much more difficult.
nephew is a junior in hs. last yr i had to teach him how to light a match b/c you cannot go thru life carrying around a chemistry class striker.
his brother basically only knows how to cook scrambled eggs and only w/ a plastic fork the way his friend taught him. oh yeah, and throw pizza in the microwave. he will be going to college in 3 yrs.
