Yes, I'm trying to convince myself that I could actually carry a plastic purse. Other than that issue, I'm not that picky. I like to be able to hang it from my shoulder but even shortish handles are fine for that and I need an inside pocket for my gun. And I don't want something that is big enough to used for luggage.
There was a pink one at Kohl's last fall (I think) that I am still kicking myself for not buying. Yes, it was leather with an inside pocket and was medium size. No, I don't know why I didn't buy it. It was even on clearance.
I don't ike plastic purses either . I did find a couple of canvas or cotton ones for summer that I like carrying ,can't remember where I found them TJ MAxx , Ross ? Marshalls!,
but I can throw them in the washer and they look good. white , white and navy and one multi pastels.
Or maybe a sale purse at Vera Bradley , she has some nice summery colors.

Through one of my Mom's groups, we have friends who own a couple of Dominoes and they give us 50% off pizza and free delivery since they come to the party.

Funerals are for the living. The only reason to not skip the funeral would be if his parent has no one else to be there for them for comfort and would be alone. If the subject comes up with the relative, just tell them that sometimes it's hard living away from the family, you are sorry you will miss the funeral, but you are so glad you made it back to see her alive.

I echo what GT said. If you have to chose between the 2, go now. DH was very glad we went when his grandma was still alive and conscious. We did end up being able to go to the funeral as well by the blessings of Providence, but if we weren't able to go he would have been contented in knowing he had spent some time with her while still alive.
