I took Heidi. I put her on her leash when we got there since there were some other people there and they had two loose dogs. Once we were way back in the timber and down in the ravine I turned her loose. She did really well staying close to DH or me. She would run around and come right back if we signaled her.
Didn't find one single mushroom but I did pull a handful of ramps (wild leeks). And DH has already found one tick so it wasn't completely nonproductive, I guess!
Oh! We stopped at the store on the way home and I ran in to get fresh buns (hamburgers for supper). There was a Chips Ahoy display with coupons taped to the packages ($1/2) and a 2 for $5 sign on the cookies. I stopped to look at it and read the coupon. I was good, I didn't buy any; but just as I was starting to walk away a lady came up, pointed out the coupon and proceeded to explain to me how it works and tell me what a good deal it is.

I barely shopped today - it was like the pressure inside the stores was weird. Anyone else notice that when they are sick? And the background noise just about made my skin crawl. My dear children have just been normal kids today and I have felt so on edge and just about ready to snap at them for every little thing! I finally took my toddler to the park for a little bit so she could wear off some steam and the squeals of the children just about sent me screaming back to the car with my hands over my ears!
Ah well... it's almost bedtime and hopefully things will be better tomorrow or I'll be on RX meds.
And I'm almost done with Walmart shopping. I picked up a bag of oranges today and went to take it out of the trunk and my oldest is like "ewww, what's that"... oh, um, lets see - that's half a rotted orange. ??? This makes for 2 bags of rotten oranges and 1 lb of molded strawberries - 3 separate trips in the past 2 or 3 weeks. Is that normal??? I've never had so much rotten food and I'm pretty stinking tired of it.

Shopping went okay. A couple of bags here. Loads of time with the guy.
Kay....Wags has Gillette Fusion razors for 9.89 use the $4 coupon and get back a $5 RR. This is a month long deal. Every day that I was doing this deal until today I was just doing this transaction and adding ina filler item plus the previous $5 RR I earned before frim Gillette and I would get another RR. But no not today! No new RR if I used the $5 one from Gillette. Yes normally you cannot use the same RR on your next transaction of the same item but it was working. Now no more.

here's what we do for garlic bread:
vertically slice the baguette from WF.
in a bowl mix up softened unsalted butter, and crushed garlic (paste, essentially). sometimes I also add chopped fresh parsley to it. :yum:
spread onto bread. then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
into oven it goes and comes out as crusty bread, with warm buttery insides and gooey mozzarella on top!
we don't eat very salty food, which is why i use unsalted butter since the bread and mozzarella both have salt. but if you guys like stuff more salty, you can use salted butter. i don't like using garlic salt,or similar powder, cos i don't like any grittiness to the bread surface.

do you have any of the Emergen-C drink mix at home? if not, maybe order some from amazon? that's what we did recently when we ran out and all of us here got very sick. after 3 weeks of being sick i'm only just better. still have remnants of a cough.
or if you have any Ester C at home and any Zinc at home, take 2-3000 mg of ester c a day (not all at once, but maybe 500mg 4-6 times a day) and take some zinc. and keep that up with lots of water. you will need all the water you can get and all the vitc your body can process to fight the infection.
