Just wondering. Meesh thinks I'm a freak because my kids ate that for lunch or dinner once. She's never heard of it. Apparently it's not a recipe in her Gourmet mag.
Couldn't check in with you all much today but we had a very productive day...errands run, got some new pics of dd taken, etc. Here are a few of them, including a leotard pic
These did not come without extensive bribing with Sixlets (peanut-free M&M alternative.)
I am craving icecream but I am not eating icecream...so give me other alternatives...

I know that twinkle of mischief in her eyes all too well.
Babies here are all sleeping and I'm going to follow their lead.
Meesh
I don't know if I've ever posted the digital scrapbook I made after her 1st bday: http://community.shutt
Alright I gotta get to bed, way to much to do tomorrow and morning is going to come fast!
I hope you find a cough syrup you are good with.
did you know they can test for allergies to cockroaches? yes, m'am, i tested positive and highly allergic.
i was so glad.
HBA: yes, i am allergic to a bunch of the chemicals they put in mainstream health and beauty stuff. the thing is, this one i don't blame my body for. industries are adding some highly toxic stuff in there, and we're seeing the impact with all kinds of nervous system, skin and endocrine issues in more and more Americans. most of these chemicals are banned in other developed countries, but here, these companies keep putting that stuff in the name of cost. Why aren't Americans deserving of good, clean healthy products? Makes me very angry.
Anyways, I'll get off that soapbox for a moment to say on HBA stuff:
Have you tried Dr. Bronners? I recently tried their Sensitive Skin Unfragranced Baby Wash with Aloe. It's just natural oils like olive and jojoba, treated with sodium hydroxide to saponify them (create soap). Has no fragrance (just the gentlest whiff of jojoba, which disappears within seconds), and leaves skin soft and unirritated. It foams beautifully. No greasiness.
I am severely allergic to some chemical in commerical American deodorants. I use one from Europe - a friend of mine in Germany sends me the roll ons as birthday and Christmas presents
Shampoos/conditioner - I am still hunting, but Aubrey Organics has excellent reviews. I am going to try getting some from the soap.com deal and or drugstore.com's special sale on them and see how I like it. If you have a WF near you, they'll also give you samples.
And face washes - Aubrey and Earth Science are both highly rated for those with chemical sensitivities/fragrance allergies. Will let you know what I think once I try em. I did wash my face with the Dr. Bronners and really liked it. At the time my face had hives all over from Robitussin and Bronners calmed it within an hour.
Staples has 12 packs of Brawny big rolls (equal to 16 regular) on sale for 13.49, and then there's a 3.50 instant savings, so 9.99.
There's a 25/75 breakroom and cleaning supplies coupon.
So, it looks like this: buy 6 packs
13.49 * 6 = 80.94
- 25/75 = 55.94
- 3.50 * 6 instant savings = 34.94
pay with rewards if you have any.
If you are in a post coupon tax state there will be no tax after rewards. If you are in a pre-coupon tax state, there will be tax on 34.94.
per roll for a no-tax scenario that works about to be about 49c.
with tax it would be in the 50-something range.
delivery is free to your home. if you don't have the coupon on hand/can't find it (for example they emailed it to me, and I stupidly just deleted the email a couple of days ago) you can order by phone and have them apply the coupon. just call 800-333-3330, place the order, let them know you received the coupon but don't have it on hand and they can apply it for you. or if you want to order online, look through your inbox and the staples catalog/any mailings: they send out the coupon by mail and email and also have it in their catalogs. and once you find the code, you can order online. some people are also just buying the coupon online for 1-2 bucks.
I am off to the chiropractor. Have worsening headaches and my neck aches. She thinks it is from when we were rear ended when I was visiting Trevor. Only problem is, I had my Dad pick me up before the state trooper arrived, so don't think I can file it under that accident. Oh well. Thank goodness for insurance!
Just keep a record of medical bills, and call insurance to let them know.
As long as you had personal injury protection at the time of the accident, you are good. who gave you a ride after doesn't matter.
If the doctors can document/say in your medical record that the pain goes pack to the injury, and not something else, you're good. And in most states the statute of limitations on making an insurance claim is several years.
But, to protect yourself, call your division of insurance and find out
a) what that time period is
b) how much of the medical cost the auto insurer is required to pay at minimum and maximum if you have health insurance. each state's laws are different on this.
i will keep an eye out for deals on cf cereal. not a big fan of kashi.
and i'm so glad that you must be feeling better gg since you are posting all over. well, besides the cough. that might be from allergies. dh has a dry cough, i have a little lung congestion and this yr is truly awful for allergies.
Cough - I think it's from the chest injuries. They'd warned me of that, that it will make me much more susceptible to infections. And that bug I got a few weeks ago, well it's just stubbornly clinging.
p.s. someone just posted a nice list on WF thread of things on sale. I'm totally gettig the Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade Bottles (they're multi serving - like 6-8 glasses) and at 2.99 BOGO I can get a few to keep on hand.
I'd come clean for you, do you live close to AR? I have been following your ordeal, & just can't believe what you're going thru.
These are awesome! My fave is the 1st one.
I am nowhere close to AR. I'm on the east coast.
It's been an unpleasant experience, but strangely a hugely educational one, and in the process of encountering the enormous kindness of so many strangers, a heart expanding one, too. So I am grateful for it. Is that dumb? I am grateful that this came my way.
Wow. I never thought I'd be able to say that.
ok, that's enough feeling sorry for myself for one night. off to go gather my medical papers. doc appt in AM. plus side: he's literally behind my house. minus side: it's pouring here. God bless the man, he'll have to see my jelly belly and stand me hacking all over him. Should be fun.
oh hun, we are! i used to say that i was "allergic to everything under the sun, including the sun itself" people would laugh. then i told that to the allergist on my first visit, after they had done a panel test, and he nodded sagely, and said yes, you are clearly very sensitive.

Since discovering naturallycurly.com I have been using more natural products and looking into making my own. Homemade flax seed gel is super nice for curly hair. I have been experimenting with natural brands from whole foods. I am trying to eat more natural and organic as well. Since I found out propylene glycol is in tons of processed food. I was excited to try the new Mio drink mix, ingredient #2, propylene gylcol!
If you have any suggestions on make up I would love to hear them, I have pretty much stopped wearing it...

saffronrouge is a website that carries lots of natural/organic cosmetics/beauty products. they don't feature anything with propylene glycol. they have quite a few brands.
fair warning, if you are allergic to fragrances, or have sensitivities on that count, look at the labels CAREFULLY. if something says PARFUM, it has artificial fragrance. even expensive, highly regarded "natural/organic" lines like Dr. Hauschka, Caudalie, and Fresh have artificial fragrances. So take that "natural/organic" marketing line with a block of salt and really examine the ingredients.
Also, if you do have fragrance allergies, avoid lavendar oil (in a lot of products that are fragranced by essential oil) and eucalyptus oil (in a lot of skin products).
ecobella is a vegan line of natural/organic cosmetics.
