I hope your day gets a little better.
Mine were like yours..very eager to help. When my daughter was a baby, I gave her brother 'grown' up jobs he could do to help me out. Get the diapers, pick out a book for us to read while I was nursing, etc, etc. It helped some. Hugs!

And what is up with the PF q??
They pulled the coupon..they said the coupon was used in way not intended, so they pulled it, effective today. If you go over to their FB page you will see the post.

What does this mean? You bought a house long distance? Like flew on a plane to your new city, found a house, then got back on the plane to come home and pack? If so, where/when/how did you do the closing?
DH was traveling back and forth every other week. Company paid for me to come out one weekend to visit and see if we liked the area. Not hard to convince someone to move from North Dakota! This was the weekend before Thanksgiving. Flew home, Dad had emergency double bypass, Mom went on hospice care. Spent lots of time with them both, and brothers came out to visit Dad after surgery. Good thing, as Mom passed away 3 weeks later, and they wouldn't have seen her. Decided at Christmas we should move. Flew out with kids in March, found a house in 2 days. Came home, listed our house 2 months later, it sold in 2½ days. Flew back out for closing (company paid again) Packed up, DH was in CO the week our stuff got here, then he flew back to ND to drive us out here Memorial Day weekend. Whew.

If you have any suggestions on make up I would love to hear them, I have pretty much stopped wearing it...:mad :
My sister is allergic to the sun. She gets a rash on her skin early in the spring, until her body adjusts. The first time it happened, we were overseas, and thought maybe she had gotten bites from insects or something. Took her in to a Scandinavian clinic and that's what they diagnosed her with.

BY PLACING MY COMFORTER OVER THE BABY'S FACE!!!!!!! :fain t: I screamed so loud I think I scared the neighbors, but for sure both girls. EEK! I just was so worried that I freaked out. Thanks hun!

Yes my kids do spit up a lot. Sophia was colicky and has GERD. She was on Prevacid when she was younger and is now on Zantac. She was ALWAYS sitting up TONS! Poor girl!
Lily started spitting up more and more and she was fussier last week. I broke down and called the dr on Sat night (luckily he was on call) and we talked about ways to help reduce her chances of spitting up. Then we discussed her getting on Zantac to help with her discomfort. So she has been on Zantac since last Saturday. We are trying it for a week, stopping for a few days and see how she reacts to it all. So far I have noticed less fussiness since starting the Zantac, so we will see if she gets worse when I stop it.
What really scares me about Lily is sometimes she chokes on the spit up. Sometimes its just fresh milk and sometimes its curdled. Often it comes through her nose as well as her mouth. For these reasons, she sleeps on me or RIGHT next to me, even at night. The dr knows how she is sleeping and he is ok with it. She is starting to sleep in her bouncer or swing some during the day, which is a nice break, but I am not ready for her to be away from me at night!

PF pulled their Q. They are now saying it was used incorrectly bc they weren't supposed to be used on sales, bc the Q states 'not valid with other offers.' Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

:nod : Yep, I have an ABI from lack of O2 when I had an anaphylactic reaction to bananas. Was apparently not breathing when I entered the ER via ambulance....this I have never really understood, because it seems like they could have done something in transit to take care of that but I have no clue :dontknow : I remember none of most of that day, eating whatever I ate, or anything after that. After a week in ICU and being near-death more than once I am happy to be alive. Did inpatient/outpatient rehab, still live with some effects of it, most unnoticeable to other people though. For the most part have found new 'normal' but I don't think you're ever the 'same' after something like that in more ways than one.

Geez and I wonder why dd has taken this peanut allergy so well? She has lived with this all of her live. Above event happened when she was 6 mos. old. When she sees a banana or you ask her what she thinks about bananas she says, "EEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!" We of course can't have 'em in the house at all.

What happened to you Ariel? If ya don't mind me asking : O

:hug : Awwww, I I think I would have done the same thing. : comfort:
In case you buy stuff from Best Buy, you could get a free code from them. I ordered 2 laptops this week (2 different orders) and I got a code with each one for an 8x8 that doesn't expire until 12/1/11. woot

WOW!! That is quite the traumatic experience! I am so happy that you are still here!! heart Mine wasn't nearly as traumatic. I have PKD [wikipedia.org] and Aneurysms are associated with this disease. They scanned me when I was 17 and I had none, so they were just doing a 10 year follow up scan and they found one. I NEVER expected to have one (even though my mat. grandma died from one and my mom almost did), so it was quite the shock. Some of you will remember, I was actually diagnosed with it the day after my hubby was laid off from his VERY nice job. I thought God hated me and I was very upset! Also, I work on a floor with ALL traumatic brain injuries, so it was hard to go to work for the 2 weeks before I was able to have the clipping surgery. When I went into work, I would do my job and just cry the whole time. I was seeing what happened if what I had went to far, and it was not something I wanted. Anyways, I had the surgery done 2 years ago last Feb (2 days before my Bday in fact) and I have been ok since. I actually consider our family VERY lucky to have had my hubby laid off, bc he was home to take care of me in the months it took to recover from brain surgery, as well as help with the kids. Before the diagnoses, I got headaches almost everyday, but I thought it was just the migraines I was struggling with. Now I hardly ever get one and when I do, its usually bc I need to go see the chiro! I do still have some small effects from the surgery (going from sitting up to laying down on my belly can give me an intense headache for a few seconds, hot showers make me dizzy and hurt my head, ect), but they are so minor I don't really think about them! I consider myself VERY blessed for them to have found it and taken care of it so fast. Now I just have to be checked every 5 years, bc they can come back.

Thanks dear! hug

I have been having her do some things like the getting the diapers and throwing them out (she LOVES this job), draining the bath tub after we do her bath, ect. I hadn't thought about reading to her while I was nursing! That is a GREAT idea!! Thanks hun!!!

worship Thank you. I will check them out. I have not discovered any fragrance allergies yet, but the smell of lavender gives me an awful headache so I try to stay away from that anyway.
sorry i should've been clearer - i was lumping a bunch of stuff under the fragrance allergy umbrella.

1) allergies i.e. skin rashes to fragrance, watering eyes, itchy nose, sniffles that sort of thing - look for the words Parfum or Fragrance in products and don't use those. the allergy is likely not to the fragrance itself but one of the chemicals used to put fragrances in products. for example lots of people have become aware of parabens and avoid em. However all artificial fragrances need/use methylparaben and or propyl- and butylparaben. So many manufacturers are not specifically listing the parabens separately if they're included in the fragrance compounding cos US law allows them to just say fragrance. sucks, since parabens are so toxic to human health.

2) fragrance/smell sensitivities to particular smells - i.e. headaches, nausea, migraines. it is generally things along a certain "note" that will be bothersome, because those are indicative of particular organic molecules (as in organic chemistry, not organic food). those with fragrance sensitivities usually find lavender very bothersome. it's a common trait. it gives me migraines. ditto patchouli. and eucalyptus. pretty much anything with a strong "powdery note" bothers me - lavender and patchouli fall right in that. with natural/organic products, it may say "fragrance free" and all that means is that it doesn't have any artificial fragrances. but many are still heavily scented with essential oils, some of which can be very irritating to those with fragrance sensitivities. so always get a sample and try a small dot on your wrist or neck and see if after a little while the scent is cloying/starting to get you nauseous/dizzy/short of breath or giving you a headache.

finally if you're starting to find yourself becoming allergic/sensitive to different chemicals/particulate matter (pollen, dander, dust etc), look into getting air purifiers for the the rooms where you spend the most time (bedroom and kitchen and family room or some configuration like that). you can even get an insurance subsidy for that, and definitely a tax write-off if an allergist recommends it for you.
the better quality ones also filter out chemical molecules because many of the chemicals that you find in these cosmetics are also in your house paint, your mattress, your sheets, your cell phone, any fiber/pressedboard furniture you may have like that from ikea, your laptop, all plastics in your house. which means, though you are unaware, you are constantly breathing in and absorbing some of these very toxic chemicals and they are in your bloodstream.
look for true HEPA air purifiers with the chemical filtering capability. amazon has em for 200 bucks each or slightly under. the more you're exposed to the allergens, over time the more intense your allergic reaction will become and there's no turning that back, so you want to eliminate sources of exposure, rather than living with them. I know of people who've gradually developed something called "multiple chemical sensitivities" or MCS. and that royally sucks.

Let us know how you make out at the doctors today. Will be thinking of you.
oh honey bunny, thank you! you guys are too kind, but it takes one to know one.
doc appt (thanks for asking and thinking of me):

he wants a chest CT. so yet another scan soon.
have fever and dry cough. he thinks it's from not being able to breathe deep, but CT should show more.
did bunch of bloodwork.
wrote me PT referral.
he thinks i'm developing a nerve hypersensitivity (some injured areas can't stand to be touched, even the slightest brush of a sheet or pajama is super painful).and might need work on that at a rehab hospital.
he's concerned about knee not extending because after all these months my tendons have likely contracted and if PT can't help me extend those out completely, I would end up with a permanently bent knee and a hobbled gait for life. Frown He warned me that the knee PT is going to be very painful.

how delightful.

oh and, i have put on 40 pounds since the accident according to the doc's office today. Crying add that to the 10 - 15 i wanted to lose before, and i am now 50-55 pounds overweight and the heaviest I have ever been in my life. ahh, the accident that keeps on giving.

that is all.

if this offer doesn't go through, you need to dump this realtor and find a new one. sorry, i know you said he's nice, but niceness will not get you a house. how are you going to count on this guy to negotiate for you, be informed about any issues on the house for you, etc, if he can't even make a simple time-sensitive phone call on time?
i agree with the others - release him. and be very nice about it. Stick Out Tongue

I am looking for one high and low.. I am loosing lots of hair, especially in my forehead and I really don't want to go bald Frown.. I perfectly blame it on raising the kids
thank you sweetie.
really, you didn't like Bronners? it's the cleanest (and most moisturized with a body wash) i've ever felt. EEK! I wonder what that says about me? laugh out loud
then again sis tried it and said she felt very clean but not as moisturized, so she wasn't thrilled about that. I used to use Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash before. It is very moisturizing and thick and creamy, but I got allergic to the smell.
so different, each of us. goes to show, all these personal care products, are such an individual thing. there's no one good recommendation.

that being said, I will definitely report back on shampoo/cond.

by the way the hair loss - happened to a friend of mine after her first pregnancy and more after the second. she now regularly loses hair. talk to your doc about that - it's can be a hormonal thing, and can often be a sign of thyroid issues.

Are you losing your eyebrows from the outside edge? If you are, that combined with hair loss is a really good indication of a thyroid problem. For months I kept thinking I was over plucking them and was being extra careful.

Somebody posted a Tracfone code for 200 bonus minutes on a 60 minute card so I added that to my phone. I had just added time a while back with a good code, but that was too good to pass up. Especially since we will actually use some minutes this week.

I'm pretty well packed and mostly loaded. Waiting for those last minute towels to finish drying. I'll probably head to town in a half hour or so. Give me time to stop at the store before the chiro that way I can get back home.

Did you guys see over on PF's FB page where they are saying those mq's never should have been combined with ANY other offer INCLUDING *sales*, GC deals, etc?! :
I guess they just don't want folks to buy their over-priced stuff. Frown

hug Awww, poor baby. I hope it gets better soon. Have you tried putting her in her carseat to sleep at night. Mavis wouldn't sleep lying down for the longest time, so she spent many nights in the car seat. Well, half car seat, half in bed with us.

But maybe that would help with the spit up and tummy trouble. hug

And phooey on the PF coupons. Grr.

Don't most/all coupons say that they can't be redeemed with another offer? I thought that wording was put in there because back in the day there were no restrictions and folks would use like 10 of the same coupons on 1 item. Scratchchin Sounds stinky to me. And no matter what, if they tell a retailer that they won't be reimbursed for the coupon, what do they expect the retailer to think of the person trying to use the coupon?? If I had not heard about it here, I would not have known about it - what about those folks that won't know and will now be treated awfully? Why not chalk it up to a learning experience?

If other manufacturers take the same stance, I see a huge change in purchasing coming. *I* won't be buying a lot of things because a lot of things just aren't "needs" - and make up is DEFINITELY one of those un-needed things in this house!
