we're going to have spicy maple blackened shrimp today or tomorrow (it's a family recipe).
i'm thinking, make some black beans, and a mango-avocado salsa and we can have wonderful lettuce fajitas with romaine leaves. low carb, high fiber, high protein, plus lots of nutrients, and lots of delish.
Meesh, answer your phone biotch. You can run but you can't hide.

Thanks!!!
i've never met her so obviously i'm talking perched high on a cloud of ignorance, but still i'll say this in her defense:
i had never used mqs in my life. the occassional coupon for gap or banana, or coupons found on the net for discounts/free shipping etc for clothes etc sites from where i'd ordered, yes.
but mqs? no. in college, i had a few times cut out 2-3 coupons each from one sunday's flier. and i would always think, who uses all this other stuff, i only managed to find 2 useful ones. and that too, it's just 40c and 50c, just a 90c savings. bah, nothing. each time i cut those 2-3 coupons i ended up loosing the tiny pieces of paper or forgetting to take em with me, or by the time i'd take em to the store they'd have expired.
so i just gave up figuring it's stupid.
when i eventually discovered SD, i knew nothing about the possibilities, nothing about how, what, who, why. nothing.
that question that your SIL asked? i would've asked the same question: if it's wrong and illegal, why did shaws permit it on camera? just to make themselves look nicer? so they don't get punished even if it's illegal? etc. sounds very naive, i realize, but i would've said the same thing.
and many of the questions your SIL asks on how to use, are questions my siblings have asked me when i tried teaching em.
and yes, they too, told me, sorry don't have time to read reams. frankly, if someone told me that i would have had to read that whole new q users thread, plus several more how to threads, i never would've done it. it's overwhelming to hear that.
what i have found is that one does much better by emphasizing ease and mastery. you can do it! just learn the rules and then you can save so much! it's super easy! look at me, it took me just a few weeks and i got good at it! and so forth... then once people get reading, the more knowledge they get, the more they want to learn and do. plus the more they learn the more they appreciate nuances and that gets them learning more, discovering more. it works.
i can see how roadbumpy and burdensome this feels on your end right now, cos she's LEANING on you fully. but she'll be standing on her own soon. you're an expert at this - you've taught so many strangers, you can teach her, too.
i'm not mad at sil for wanting a hoarder stockpile, i'm sure most people, esp those w/ financial difficulties who don't coupon, upon seeing that show are also
sil does know how to use coupons and if you give them to her while you are w/ her shopping she has no qualms about handing them over to the cashier. but she has refused to do any more than that prior to the show. even her mom who barely speaks english will use coupons if you give them to her and explain which size and what the expiration date is. i'm po'd that it's b/c of the show that i have to explain how those people on tv are buying mass quantities of products fraudulently and that it won't fly around here.
i'm mad at the show b/c it creates totally unrealistic expectations, that they didn't say on the show that shaws bent the rules so that ec'er could do that transaction, that they show jail'me getting 60+ bottles of mustard and 80+ MM packages of deli meat and boxes of cereal but they don't say that she used the wrong coupon on them. they didn't explain that sister save-a-lot just honed in on the word *any* on her tuna coupon and used it on the cans but skipped over the part where it says *pouch*. she actually got caught b/c the coupon wouldn't go thru but the mgr either didn't look that closely or just let it go b/c of the cameras.
they didn't show all the other stuff treasure had to buy the wk prior for treasure to get her 54.00 in catalinas so she could pay a penny on her trans. which is why i know sil will ultimately fail. b/c last wk there was a buy 50.00 in certain p&g products, get a 10.00 oyno and a mail-in-cert for a 10.00gc = almost 40% off or more esp if you had any q's. i told sil about it and that she could buy 4 packs of bounty in one tranny and then use the 10.00oyno in a second tranny. but she didn't have time.
i know she went to her 2nd home that wk and i know she went to the supermarket and she most likely went to bjs or superwalmart which is nearby the shoprite. but she couldn't make a small detour or choose to go to shoprite instead, where the deal was for what she wants to stockpile. and what was unemployed bil doing? when i'm there he mostly stays home except for some errands like changing the car battery or taking stuff to the recycling ctr.
to be an ec'er and get those hoarder stockpiles, you have to make time and chase after the deals, the deals don't come whenever you feel like it. and you may have to jump thru a few hoops along the way. bounty is very rarely that cheap around here. maybe a couple times a yr. even bff who hates to do oynos and said *i have to mail in something???* did the deal. b/c she's always needs toilet paper and would make 3 times her money reselling the bounty at her pharmacy. and she needs paper towels anyway and it's so cheap.
the show doesn't really explain that most of those ec'ers built up those stockpiles a little at a time over a long period of time. it doesn't really explain that they put those trannies together just for the show. most of those trannies are the biggest they've ever done and that's why they run into all those problems, locking up the registers, running out of line items, having to call their friends to come to the supermarket so they comply w/ the policy, etc. the show creates the false image that those ec'ers do that every time they go to the store.
not to mention the fact that people see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear. i'm sure it didn't exactly register w/ sil that sister-save-a-lot spends 30-40hrs a wk on her coupons which doesn't include her mom's time, that jail'me spends about 6hrs prepping prior to a tranny 3X/wk, that another one said she spends about 30hrs/wk on her coupons. no way sil is going to devote that much time on coupons.
thoughts?
water is about all we drink all day long - rare soda consumption here, and we don't drink much juice either because of the high sugar content, so water goes fast in this house. plus i use filtered water for rinsing all food and for cooking, since the tap water has a strange metallic taste (lead pipes likely) and also a horrible odor. don't want whatever all that is in my food. filtering removes all that taste and odor problem.
basically it would be an upgrade over the brita and if it would ultimately end up being cheaper but upfront costs are high, i would seriously consider doing it if you have the funds. you use it so much that you would quickly recoup your upfront costs.

i have shrimp in the freezer, thanks to target and maple syrup, thanks to amazon.
you can't tease me like that.

wash the spears and cut off about an inch or so off the tough bottoms. lay the spears flat in glass baking dish. drizzle evoo, fresh ground pepper. salt also if you like food salty. we don't so i don't use any. toss to coat. then take a couple of cloves of fresh garlic and slice thin. sprinkle the thin slices all over. take some fresh parsley, break off the whole leaves and spread around on top of the asparagus.
roast in oven for 7-8 minutes.
the asparagus comes out crispy tender, beautifully flavored with the roasted garlic and the parsley gets crisped.
I ended up doing pork chops and home made fries.
I am so sorry that you are still hurting. I wish there was something I could do. I am glad to see you posting online though - it is nice to "see" you.
Does anyone know of a place for kids to eat free today (w/ adult entree purchase maybe?)?
Yesterday while tending to my babies (garden) something bit me on my arm. It is swollen, it is about 2 inches round, with a little mark in the middle (where I was stung/bitten/nibbled on)...any ideas? It itches, but hurts more then it itches.
