I believe everyone has their strenghts and weaknesses. Not everyone is the same or learns as easily.
It's easy to think that though if you are good at something I guess :dont know:
I had some of the most amazing teachers throughout school. I was even on the math team in the 3rd grade. When algebra and geometry started, I just kept falling further and further behind. My good friend's father was my algebra teacher and he worked with me endlessly and patiently. Some people just aren't good at certain things, math is mine.
^^^^ This. Thanks ITA.

I think part of life is aggressively going after whatever it is you want to pursue and that if you *really, really* want something you can put your mind to it and attain it BUT I also believe that a large portion of life is being able to admit both your strengths AND weaknesses. And if something isn't your thing, admit it, and in some cases move on to something else you will enjoy and be better suited for Wink DH and I have discussions like this a lot. Admitting weaknesses is not his strong point (cough, cough....thinking that taking a pic of shingles and counting them would be a good way to figure out how many we needed for our roofing project Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)) The same kind of thing happens all the time at our house and it is frustrating. It is SO ok to not be good at everything, we all have things we are better at than others....sometimes it's best just to admit what you aren't good at and are and move on!

why does everyone feel compelled to videotape themselves nowadays when they don't even know what they are doing?
Can't view the link for some reason, error is: "this video is private."

But laugh out loud along those same lines, why does everyone and their mother think they need to start a new couponing blog?! Nothing against them particularly but there are just SO MANY of them anymore. TWO recently popped up from my area.....the one has been kind of nice actually, it is good to be able to have a resource that's more local. But then another popped up just this week. I have seen a lot of misuse (and 'oh well' attitude to go with it) too.....ahhhhhhhhhhhh good 'ol internet.

I'm also a little terrified that I'll have kids so close together- 6, 3, 18 months, and potential special needs baby. :wh ee:
Math-lover here too Smilie Just did NOT like doing all those dang proofs in geometry....I found that pointless Roll

You will be able to do it, I just know it Wink I can see that being totally daunting, just take it a day at a time and know that you will make it - we are here for ya!

Has anyone tried the treadclimber by bowflex? I am trying to get into toned shape so I can wear a bathing suit when we move to FL...10 or 9 months should be enough to whip me into shape somehow... I have a problem getting to the actual gym b/c of the kids...

Thanks! In my only T trip in 2 weeks, I picked up 6 bottles of Banana Boat kids tear free. I'll be doing a missed Q. If you've never tried tear free, it totally rocks. You can spray the kids with eyes and mouth open and no issues. Big Grin

hug Hopefully, today will be better.

Wave Good Morning! I finally caught up!

My baby boy turns 1 today, where has the time gone??

Ank- I've been to T once in 2 weeks, I feel really weird not going.

Sooo The last 2 weeks have been the craziest and hardest I've ever been through.

Last week: Surprise! I'm preggo. I'm not only preggo, but 11 weeks along. EEK!
During the ultrasound, they detected some issues, go in for extensive testing 2 days later.
On friday, we find out we're having a girl (I have 3 boys), but there are some major issues. I have everyone praying for me, 'cause this little girl needs to be a fighter.

This week: Uncle has a major heart attack on Sunday and yesterday my SFIL died. Crying

We're leaving for Disney on Saturday and I'm hoping getting away from everything will relieve some stress.

Monday I turn 35 and I'm feeling old.

I wanted to drop in and say Hi. Sorry, I'm just a ray of sunshine today. Stick Out Tongue
hug If I can help, let me know. P&PT that you get some good news at your appointment tomorrow.

I turned 36 the day after monkey toddler was born and he makes me feel older some days than anything else does. laugh out loud

35 isn't nearly as old as snotty teens make you think.

Grams is doing sooooo much better.

good gravy. I was going to say carrot. I would NEVER guess a beet. My kidlet's favorite food is Spam. The little weirdo :lol :
Sooo glad that your gram is doing better!! heart

OMG! Spam is LOVED by everyone in our house!! Whenever I stock up on it, it is eaten VERY fast down to the last 3 cans, then everyone weighs if the meal is really worth the Spam. Crazy family I have I tell you.

Quote from mama2cole :
My sister is going to watch the kids on the 16th so we can go to dinner. I'm sure MIL is going to call up and see if we need her for that night and I can't wait to be all "oh, nevermind". But that's just because I'm an evil-passive-aggressive-bitch.
Glad you are getting to go out still. laugh out loud on the MIL. I would be the same!

Well my plans changed drastically since I last posted. Alexa's paternal grandmother (from bio dad) passed away on Monday night (car crash, not expected). So now I am making arrangements for us to go to the service. Momma Junie was flying down here to take care of the kids while J and I went away and then she was going to help me drive the kids up back to Mt. Now we are planing for Junie to help me drive the girls down to San Diego (where the service is) and then we will leave for Mt from there. So I am not going to get to go away with J for our anniversary, but I am hoping to go out to a nice dinner with him. The kids and I will also be away from him on Father's Day Frown J says he is ok with it, bc this is more important, which makes me love him more, but it saddens me just a little. Oh well, I am doing what we need to for our oldest. Smilie

Quote from flugette :
I was all ready to join the party for June 16 until I suddenly remembered my anniversary is june 14. :rofl2 : I *always* get that mixed up. Hubby does a much better job at remembering our anniversary - last year, I completely forgot, even up until the very day of. :shake :
laugh out loud

Well my oldest DS is away all summer. We sent him to live with my sister and BIL in Wyoming. She put him to work out there. He has been working for a week now. I think it is a great thing for him. He didn't want to go but I felt like he needed a change of environment. Hoping he grows up alot the next 2 months. He is excited because he told me tonight he us finally getting the hang of the job and he has found a cheap car to buy. We are sending the money tomorrow. We will pay part of it and he is paying the rest. I am so glad he will be able to drive himself to work.
But, in the disappointed side, I found out he didn't pass all his classes this semester. :sadwalk : he failed college algebra. This was his second attempt. He withdrew first semester. And every major he is interested in requires atleast algebra plus 2 additional higher maths. I don't know what he is going to do
Sorry to hear about his math class! I am happy for you that he is having a change for the better! That is always a good thing!

Just had the yummiest dinner - grilled chicken, potatoes and onions in foil packets on the grill, blueberry muffins, and a green salad. yummy And every last bit of it was free with coupons or using up overage. Funny how that makes it all taste even better. laugh out loud

I am getting excited about traveling next week! We leave on Tues, drive to Charlotte and spend the night with friends, then finish on to AL on Wed. Do it in reverse on Sat. Then the following Sat, I leave with 2 sisters and my kids and we drive to KY. Family vacation (my side) for a week. We are renting a house that has loads of amenities, including a huge pool, and I am looking forward to just sitting around with family and relaxing. The only things on the agenda are the Creation Museum and a train museum.

Ariel, we are going to be gone from daddy on Father's Day, too. I feel bad about that, but he's fine with it. He's such a good daddy. heart He doesn't have enough vacation time or he'd be coming with us. At least I'll be with my own dad on Father's Day, and that will be special. That hasn't happened in quite a few years.

And I just have to brag on my family a little bit. My two sisters are going to take my ys stuff and set up for me at a church sale on the Sat I'm gone, just to earn more money for me for our vacation. I thought that was so special of them to offer to do that, and it made me so thankful.

drool mmmmm we are having grilled chicken tomorrow night, can't wait --- that combo sounds yummy though! it IS amazing how much better the price makes it taste laugh out loud

We are most always away from dh on father's day too...with his schedule and having Th/Fri as a 'weekend' rather than Sat/Sun we are pretty choosy about which days he takes off and Mother's/Father's days just aren't priorities. He does have some extra days off next week though and I am excited about that bounce

The good news is that our pastor & his wife have loaned us a vehicle until Monday, and if we still need one after that we have a friend who is going on vacation next week and will loan us their car.

So... DD's teacher is saying that she needs to find some more folksy/souly type songs to sing instead of the pop junk out there today. He says her voice is richer than that and needs that type of style. Any suggestions??
