It's my baby's birthday today! She turned five. First thing she says to me this morning: "It's my birthday! Where's my cake?" I told her that we could go to the store and pick out a cake.

Also have to stop at Target this morning. I bought the DD5 a Nintendo DS for her birthday, ToysRUs has it on sale for $89. Target price matches other competitors up to seven days from purchase right?

Hi All. So GT - If I buy rubber snakes will they stop pooping on my picnic table? I swear the birds use it like a litter box.
Probably. Hit a dollar store and buy a couple. I've used them for 2 years and they've worked. I don't know why now all of a sudden some birds are walking right over them. The poop bombs are not reappearing -- at least so far. I think I'm going to pick up a few more and move them around.

I'm jealous. Keep this. Someday you will be old and need lot of analgesics too.

Good morning, Bunnies! I wish you'd come over and graze on some greens in my yard -- but just the ones I want gone.

That little girl has her priorities in order. Correctly, I might add. Advice from experience.... never let them know you can make cake for birthdays. I used to happily trot to the store for nicely decorated birthday cakes. Then my son wanted cupcakes or some other weird damn thing I had to do. Then my daughter decided I had to make this two layer thing with twinkie filling... every year. No deviation. And God forbid I forget the candy bar to make the chocolate curls. Oh, and my husband prefers a peach pie.

===========
I don't have much of a plan for today. I really don't like using weed killers and/or chemicals in my yard but I just can't keep up the hand weeding; so, I'm caving in and spraying a few areas with a contact weed killer and preventative. I might do that today and finish pulling the bigger weeds along the fence line.

I'm also going to kill or dig out some English or Boston Ivy that I planted a long the other fence. (Can't remember which it is) It grows every year and it's pretty. But then instead of regreening and growing more the following year, it dies down to the ground. I guess I am just too far north for it to regreen and our season is too short for that. It never covers the fence. The honeysuckle, however, is lovely, greens right back up and is already just about to start blooming -- lots of flower buds that should open in the next few days. And, it blooms all summer.

Thanks TN, I saw it today and it is split wide open. He definitely needed stitches. He's religiously putting hydrogen peroxide on it. He says he needs neosporin. Apparently, we do not have any in the house. I guess I need to get to T or 2 or 3. Evillaugh

I have a question regarding Target and figured I'd come over and ask the knowledgeable people instead of posting and clogging up the deals thread. Sorry to interrupt and everything but honestly I'm nice and not a meanie Girly

So I had a bad exp the other night returning at a Target while out of town. I couldn't find my receipt and asked them to do a CC lookup, the whole reason for the hurried pace with the return was that my bank is doing some major switchovers and gave us a weeks notice before all of us are on a new system and my stupid card won't work anymore. I was down to the wire and didn't want to miss out and be stuck with something I legitimately didn't need. Anyways the girl was really nasty towards me and even refused my return at first until I insisted that she call the 800 # and verify that it wasn't policy to look up items for a customer. Then she called the LP guy and I explained to him that it wasn't going to intimidate me and we were going to handle it per Target Policy. She took back my CC and began to process the return THEN I caught her grabbing a piece of paper and writing down my Name, CC number, exp date, and cvv #... I literally blew a gasket! I explained to her that I didn't give her permission to write down ANY of that info and that it was identity theft! She denied it until basically I yelled for the LP guy to come over and give me my personal info. The LP guy was acting like a jerk but told her that she could never ever write down a customer's info without their permission. She & the LP guy then said they would throw the paper away and I explained it was my property and I'll be damed if I'm going to accept anything except that paper in my hands. I insisted on speaking with the Store Manager and unfortunately they claimed there were no managers in Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Then she went on to tell me that because my return was 100.00 that I had to give my ID and I told her she was full or crap and to process the return. The LP guy just looked at her and she finally did it. Now my question is am I going to be wasting my time calling the Store Manager about this? I'm still lit up that an employee tried to steal my info without my permission and actually accused me to theft without even swiping my card to look up the info. I'm tired of being treated like a criminal (unjustly) at Target. I just don't know if Target takes the whole "Employee Writing Down a Customer's CC Number Info" seriously or not? Confused
Any opinions would be appreciated Please

Call corporate, ask for a supervisor, you'll get someone in the states then as opposed to the outsourced call center overseas (who simply handle your complaint based on a script they are given). Document EVERYTHING.

If you call the store manager, s/he can handle this however he chooses. If you call corporate, they will contact the store manager and tell them how to address this situation. This is certainly not in line with Target's policy on customer service.

I've had to have them do a receipt lookup with my CC for a return that was over $100 and no one even blinked, and they definitely didn't ask for my ID. The register HAS asked for id for receipts that had different conditions like earned lots of gift cards or I paid with lots of gift cards but the employee had to enter ID info into the computer. If she wasn't typing/ scanning it into the computer, you didn't need to provide it.

I would definitely call corp tomorrow and tell them exactly what you wrote. Sorry they treated you so poorly.

Thank you both for your help. I'm out of reps right now but I'll hit you later I promise heart

I'm also no stranger to look up returns and have never ever had an employee do anything like this before and don't feel it was acceptable. I'm going to call corporate tomorrow and hopefully they will do something about it.

I agree to call Corp tomorrow. This is so wrong to write down your cc info with your ccv #.

Sorry you were treated so badly.

Good to see ya though and thanks for the C. help. heart

Good afternoon Wave

Had a nice morning at church, salad for lunch and now relaxing on the couch.. trying to decide if I am going out to shop. Thinking of making a target trip. I need some creamer for my coffee in the morning, and the JF deal is tempting me laugh out loud

The AC guy is here.. hoping to have this problem taken care of soon..

So, hmm.. do I nap or shop?
