Some of you may remember this thread from two years ago. Well, he got me again. This time he got my finger on the other hand. I was getting knots out of his fur when he clamped down on the finger (the one you use to tell people they're number one laugh out loud) and when he tried to release and turned his head to jump down, his teeth were stuck in my finger, he couldn't let go. But since he turned his head, he wound up tearing the puncture wounds open even more. Sick

The top joint of my finger is red and swollen. However, I don't see how it could be infected this time, as by tearing the flesh sideways, he made the puncture wounds larger and they bled profusely for about 10 minutes. I applied tons of Bactine spray and then Neosporin to it as well. This happened about six hours ago and so far, the swelling and redness is limited to that top finger joint. So should I go to the after hours clinic or do you think it will be ok?

Should have made a thread... but after sitting at a workers comp medical office for 5 freakin' hours only to be examined & told I needed to go straight to ER Crying 4 more hours later there wasn't much energy left for posting! That and the fact that I couldn't type! At least it is better now. Didn't want to say I lost permanent use of my arm due to a cat bite. laugh out loud

Keep us posted on your progress!

Ah. I guess not then. Unless you can find thin leather ones that would at least slow down the puncture.

Not for the squeamish. The thing you see sticking out of the finger is a small piece of gauze the doctor put in there to keep the incision open.

Back from the ER again. He cleaned out the wound and packed fresh gauze into it. Which was really painful as he didn't numb the hand this time. Had another dose of the IV antibiotics too. Have to call the hand surgeon tomorrow for an appointment although I don't think it's necessary as it seems to be doing pretty good.

Whee I'm so glad to hear that. After TR's toe pic and Autumn's scabby stomach pic, I wasn't sure my dissected finger was up to par.
