The *official* iPhone 4S thread ... *officially* announced today!!! (*official* iPhone5 thread pending)

Apparently 1 in 3 Americans want a device that hasn't been announced yet. I don't recall that poll, but I'm willing to perform due diligence and start one in the Lounge.

Do you want one?

laugh out loud
Do you plan on buying the next iPhone (4S/4GS/5/etc) within the next year?
Be advised that this is a public poll: other users can see the choice(s) you selected.

I've been a huge android proponent for a while now but was seriously considering the new iPhone that was shown yesterday. All of the rumors were sounding great. That is until it was actually unveiled. All of that for nothing really ground breaking. Yes there are some nice upgrades like the CPU and camera along with it being a world phone but it's nothing that makes me want to go out and buy one right away. the SGSII is still the better choice in specs, and that's without the new Google Prime that's supposed to come out soon as well.
That seems to be the a tremendous difference between a large percentage of Android proponents, many appear to be fixated on the technical specs and the "wow" factor versus usability of the product. I've spent time on both and I can't wait to go back to iOS as it much better meets my needs.

You prob just had bad credit and couldnt get an Iphone with ATT haha Bet you have never even owned one, Im sure of it if you still say android is better. I will admit I was a a HUGE android fan, hated the first iphone I had, the original, and the service, so I dropped it and went verizon. Since then I had a handfull of android os phones. I will admit none can compare to the iphone 4. Its hands down the best phone I have had. I had to use my Droid X for a day when i was waiting on replacement phone to come in and I could tell the differece in response right off the back. Its much faster IMO and much easier to navigate. But again, its my opinion.
I'm with Verizon, and my credit is perfectly fine. Nice try though. LMAO

Still, you never owned an iphone have you? How can you say one is better not owning both? Just biased opinion then and counts for nothing.

My daughter owns the iphone 4, I am not impressed with it. I have HDMI without buying an expensive adapter. I can expand the storage by adding a larger Micro SD card, and Flash works properly. These are all of the valid reasons why Android is superior to the iphone.

It's a fair comparison, have you ever been to an Apple store?

Yes, yes, I have. I've also owned both Android and iOS devices. Nearly everyone I've talked to who has used both on a regular basis greatly prefers iOS over Android. It's smooth and just works.

Oh and flash? LMAO fark flash on mobile devices. It's a frigan battery life killer. No need, thanks.

Apple is not good for gaming, and they are definitely not good when it comes to upgrading components inexpensively. I have used Apple desktops, there is nothing special about them...except the extremely high pricetag. They usually cost 3-4 times what a similar Windows based PC would run. The same would apply to Apple laptops.

I don't see what's so amazing about the ipad either. I have used an ipad as well. I bought a clearance HP Touchpad. I can still go web surf, check e-mail, play Angry Birds, etc.. Not sure if the ipad is able to be overclocked, or tweaked as much as you can with the Touchpad either. I paid $150 for my 32GB Touchpad, as the ipad would have been four times the price for the Wi-fi version.

If you like to pay a premium for a similar, or inferior product...feel free to. You definitely do not get the performance for the price you pay with Apple products.

My apple desktop has never given me any problems. Any other computer I had before then did. That's enough for me. I've had it longer plus it has ran smoother than any computer that I've ever had. I wouldn't want an hp product if it was free.

I like that you assume that's the only people I talk to. No use arguing with ya anyway. I'm not going to change your mind. Keep using Android if that makes you happy, no one gives a shit what you actually use. I'll keep using iOS, and in just the same way no one actually give a damn what I use. Thumbup

There are pros and cons to everything...basically...if you need a cheapo phone...you go Android, if you want a status symbol and don't feel like screwing around with your phone, you go iPhone.

Anyone that has ever used both could never say the iPhone interface loses to Android...hands down it is a great OS while Android shows a lot of flaws...

Now...when you are given the option to pay $200 with contract for a 3.5" phone and the form factor of a current generation 4.5" phone...I just don't understand that...
