Does having a fancy smart phone with a 3-5" screen make you feel important?

Otherwise why do you pay for data to look at a screen that small?

Ooooh. Now that is pretty nifty...

I will say, some of the apps are very appealing. If this guy doesn't watch his trolling, this thread of his may end up convincing me to upgrade to a smart phone! laugh out loud
I totally love it, makes it so much easier. Grin

I also love that I can look up restaurant dish nutrition info, so I don't end up ordering a salad that's 1400 calories. (I'm lookin' at you, Chili's! Annoyed)

The navigation is awesome, too. Will give you live traffic so you can avoid any bad jams and take alternate routes. And being able to look at nearby shops or restaurants or whatever you need. It'll also give you the reviews and ratings for them, so you don't accidentally end up at a crap restaurant.

And the shopping stuff is awesome - I LOVE the shopping lists app so I can just have my shopping list in one place, no paper lists to carry around, especially if I'm going to more than one store. Plus there are coupon ones, and of course a slickdeals one. Big Grin

And then of course you can put all your music on it, too, so yet another device you don't have to carry around.

Totally missed this on my first read through. Only CEOs and congressman need calendars, address books, and GPS. Duh. They're the only ones that know people, make plans, and go places.

Doh OMG, how can I forget that app! I have it, and LOVE it! Smilie

Also have one that has all my "shopper" cards on it, so I don't have to carry those around. (You know, like Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, etc.) and another app that will load digital coupons to some of those cards so I can do it in-store, and ANOTHER app so I can view a weekly ad at the touch of the button. Roll I have a shopping list on my phone pretty frequently. laugh out loud I take a post-it, write my list on it, fold it up and stick it inside the phone (it's a flip phone, so I close it down on it).

Not quite the same though, huh? And makes it a bit annoying if it falls out when I answer a call, too. laugh out loud

I'm interested in planners... I think that is the thing I want to look into the most if I get a smart phone. Something to use as a planner so I can ditch the big bulky thing I carry around with me in my purse. If there's a calendar like Outlook has, that would be awesome!

It's a family plan with three phones (we all have androids) and the total monthly bill is $140. So my share of that is $47. (I'm rounding up.)

Not unreasonable to me by any means, and I don't even have cable TV!
Well OP, I told you what my total bill was, and you never responded.

How much is YOUR total bill per month? Smilie

Also, do you have a landline? Do you have cable TV? How much do you pay for those, if you have them?

yes...it makes me feel important. i actually don't even have a working iphone...i found a broken one, but i make it a point to whip it out in public and pretend to talk/text/surf because it's a huge ego boost.

Yeah... not at all the same! LMAO

What I love is the walgreens app, I can add "details" for each item on my list, so I can remind myself to use those coupons with the items and/or if it has an in-store coupon and register rewards. LOVE IT! Woot

I haven't downloaded anything specific, I just use the basic calendar that was already loaded on there, and it's quite nice. Smilie It's great to be able to keep track and not have to carry around a planner. Especially now that DS is starting to have more school activities.

My bill is $112 for 4 phones with Unlimited Text and free M2M calls to any carrier. Still too high if you ask me but my wife NEEDS the texting and I like it from an emergency perspective.

I pay around $130 for HD DVR+ Cable Modem+ Digital Telephone through COX .

I have 2 laptops and 3 desktops in the house and a laptop with me pretty much 24/7 if needed to do look ups.

Text Google and you can get just about any look up you need via text for free.

It's that hard to type 10 digits? LOL

I've used many Smart Phones always underwhelmed. Glad I'm not addicted to them.

BTW sorry for the delay in responses I was driving around town. Off the grid for a few minutes.

No worries now sitting in front of a nice 14" laptop screen.
