LOL I tell dh that the master bedroom will be mine, he gets to take one of the other rooms. woot

Ohh great idea!

I sit and wonder some days what we will do in few years when both of our kids are grown??...We are really not the 'sit around the house' type of people. We do not really like our little town. We have stayed here because it is a great little town for our kids to have grown up in, lots of family (lol ok that has its pluses and minuses), one of those everyone knows everyone kinda towns. But man, sometimes you would just like to walk down the street and be 'unknown' LOL We tease the kids and tell them when they 'grow up and move out' make sure to end up somewhere fun and exciting so we can follow them. hehe...What else are we gonna do with ourselves? (now that I type it, we sound kinda pathetic huh?...I need to get a life!)

Oh, that's good. A new house AND someone to clean it!! Those house beds are just too cute.
Pretty sure if I put this bed in dd's room I won't see her for about a year. She gets all giddy with excitement just looking at the pics. We have plenty of paint in "Purple Dragon" color leftover from her room....I think a purple (and pink....etc.) house bed is in order Smilie A friend had a Scentsy party tonight so I ordered July's cute little cupcake warmer for her room. It will match her cupcake bedding, or as she used to call it, her "fuffin" (muffin) bedding laugh out loud

yep..I was thrilled when my DD said she would rather live at home while going to college. She said 'sooo...how long can i stay?" LOL...my answer was as long as you are in school full time, have passing grades and paying your own bills (that being car ins., cell phone bill, etc..), then I will give you until you graduate college (but did set an age limit of about 23)...Just don't know that I would want them still living here at 37 LMAO This subject came up as we were watching House Hunters...guy was 37 and still lived at home.EEK!

But explained how important it was for her to get a good education so she can live somewhere fun and exotic..that has a pool...and a beach house..for her dad and I to live (oops i mean stay..visit) in. Then I will ask her.."sooo How long can we stay?" LMAO

Now why is it that her and I can live together peacefully but when I was that age I couldn't wait to move out of my parents house? I had moved out and was married at her age. Ahhh...maybe she was listening all those times i was lecturing her about life. lol

Hello all Wave
Hope you girls are doing great, i am not regular here, and not able to stop often.
Trip is pretty hectic with lots of hurdles and we are in middle of my sis's daughter's custody case. sis no more, but her DH got married again and left the little one with his parents. Their marriage was love marriage and went against my parents wish to get married to him. her dh is not a stable person and she didn't have happy marriage..
Kids are doing ok, though with sickness one after another... DS#1 is tested positive for typhoid, and under treatment, doing better now.
I have to appear in court here for sis's daughter custody case in jan, so i am coming back again. My hear goes to the little one. I am praying that the case should go in our favor.
on the postive side, got DS#2 potty trained, and both DS are speaking wonderful language.. went to lots of temples (GG, you were in my prayers, so was Trevor)...
missed this TCC and i am happy to see all your familiar names and avi Smilie
You girls rock & roll...

morning! Wave and this time it's really morning!

tm4d- another suggestion. if you are interested in seeing a broadway show or off broadway show, you could try getting half price tickets at tkts. the one at times sq is for the day of and the wait is very long, sometimes hours. however, very few people know about the downtown location near the south street seaport/pier 17. you can buy tickets there for same day or matinee the next day and there is little to no line.
http://www.tdf.org/TDF_ServicePage.aspx?id=56

if you want to be sure to get tickets for a show, broadwaybox.com has some of the best discounts- www.broadwaybox.com

i think you will be coming at the height of the theatre season so broadway show tickets may be more difficult and expensive at that time. i can also look at the local library if they have the discount coupons, i know they have them but i haven't used those in yrs. you either mail those in or take them to the box office. using those may not be able to get the best seats possible w/ other discounts.

if you intend to go to a museum or 2, you might be interested in the citypass. if not, you may want to pass on the citypass. Stick Out Tongue i've done the city pass in seattle. be sure you want to go to most of the attractions if not all. there is always one or 2 at least that are not on your must do list.
http://www.broadwaybox.com/shows/...ckets.aspx

for free events, a good resource used to be the village voice. originally a weekly newspaper, mostly about downtown bars, clubs, army/navy stores, etc (anybody remember canal jeans? it's now a bloomingdales) it's not as popular now but still around and they still list free events. go to calendar and then filter by free events on the left side.
http://www.villagevoice.com/

saw captain america yesterday. decent movie. i did want to check my watch once but it's more difficult when you have those 3D glasses on top of your own glasses so i gave up. again, not really sure watching in 3D is altogether necessary. i really think disney does a much better job w/ the 3D at shows at disneyworld where things really look like they are coming at you, and small objects really look 3D.

not much character development. think the mummy movies. you don't know their backgrounds or what motivates them. definitely not a little kiddie movie. lots of shooting and killing but not really any gore.

i think the iron man movies were better, more twist plots, more character development, more intense but captain america is still ok. good summer movie for teens.

was strange to see the guy who played elrond, lord of rivendell and father of arwen in lord of the rings as the villain.

kay- hi! glad to hear from you! sorry about your sister. hug that is a difficult situation. stay cool, have lots of yummy food and visit lots of beautiful temples to work off the calories.

yay on the language! our goddaughter and her brother go abroad every yr to visit their grandmother and go to culture camp. they weren't going to go this yr but their other grandmother has brain cancer and went back to get treatment b/c she doesn't have insurance here and diagnosis is not good so they went to spend time w/ her.

I am a Scentsy rep and I bought that same cupcake warmer for dd's room! her room is pink and green so it's perfect. I put the 'Happy Birthday' scent in it so it smells like a cupcake too. DD loves it heart

I like "fuffin" bedding laugh out loud

Hello guys Wave I miss being around here and FB catching up with everyone..

Real life is the suck right now.. won't go into all the depressing details.. but, my brother is being moved to hospice tomorrow.. I spent 3 days in Charlotte and came home late last night.. Need to spend some mommy time with my 3 year old and get a few things done around here.. working tomorrow and heading back to visit on Friday!

SO, I slept like a rock last night.. slept late, and now just snuggling with my sweetie and watching bubble guppies and sipping coffee.. I missed my Keurig when I was on the road too.. I tell ya, I don't even enjoy starbucks as much as I do my Keurig coffee and Torani syrups.. plus, when I bought a cup yesterday, I couldn't believe how much SB is these days!

I am hoping to maybe hit the target toy clearance while I am in town.. wonder if it will happen tomorrow? If anyone is my friend on FB and finds out the toys go 75%, then please send me a FB message.. I will see those on my phone even when I don't have time to check SD Smilie

TN- is tomorrow your big day?? I know your surgery is coming up soon!

Gator- hope you are kicking those Bar exams!!

Blowkiss to everyone else! Miss chatting!

tm4d- if you want to see if you can go up to the crown of the statue of libery, need to book soon. 2 month waiting list. also the entire interior will be closed for for security upgrades for a yr sometime in the fall.
http://beta.local.yahoo.com/only-...-monkeysee

btw- if you do the ferry to the statue of liberty, no need to do the staten island ferry.

Hello all Wave
Hi! Nice to hear from you.

Nothing too exciting today. Last night I used the griddle on the stove to make hamburgers, use two burners to fry mushrooms and onion rings, and the oven to keep to the onion rings warm while I fried the mushrooms.

Griddle did a nice job on the burgers, cooked quite fast too. I didn't season the griddle either. It has little rubber/silicone some kind of bumper dots on it, so I was afraid to do the traditional oil and heat in oven for hours. I just washed it with soap and water and then smeared it with canola oil. (Canola simply because it's what I had and I was low on shortening) The hamburgers were a ground chuck and ??? blend from a local butcher so there was NO fat in them. I did leave a thin coat on the griddle and they didn't stick.

Gotta dig out a computer stand thingy that belongs to my son and load in Mom's car for her to take to that side of the state for him. Yeaaaay, one more thing out of my house. Boooo, I have to dig it out and haul it up the stairs. Hmmmmm, I wonder what else I can dig out and send to him...

So my soon to be 8yr old son just called my 13yr old son a p.u.s.s.y! So my 13yr old was tripping out telling him that he said a bad word which made the 8yr start to cry and freak out saying he didn't say a bad word! After getting him to calm down I asked him where he heard it from, he said school. I asked him why he would call his brother that and he said cuz he thought it meant that someone was scared.. Like calling someone a chicken! Ugh!! On a different note , is it bad that I really really really didn't wanna tell another sd'er where I shop at? I want my store to myself.. Lol. Edited org. Post for clarity
