I'm changin my post now since my papaw is home and feeling better now. This thread is for anyone to use and post their own requests. Lux took my post from another thread and made this a separate thread just for that reason. Please do not hesitate to make requests cause you might be surprised at the support you will get from the loungers!!
Here is my original request...
Sorry I know this is off-topic but there seem to be some religious people in here right now.
Please say a prayer for my grandfather cause my mom just called and said he just called her and she is taking him to the emergency room. He is having pains (chest, I believe). It scares me cause he had a heart attack last summer and then a 5 bypass surgery. So now I'm heading to meet them at the hospital. Thanks!

thinkknow we have a great bunch of loungers. I've had more than one reach out to me a offer me some comfort. While my issue isn't life threatening it is heart breaking and the fact that someone cares means more than I can say. Thank you friends. One - Last night my grandpa was at the Dr. and his pulse was 24. They airlifted him to a hospital and found out he had a mild heart attack and they want to put in a pacemaker. We thought it was going to be ok but he started hallucinating and now is in renal failure. They said it's because his blood wasn't pumping enough for clean his kidneys...or something. I'm not quite sure I understand but I know it's not good. He just put my grandma in a home a couple weeks ago (which is right across the street from him so he walks over and visits her every day). She has alzeheimers and in the last couple weeks has stopped being able to walk. If he passes away I don't know what will happen to her. They have the kind of marriage I've always wanted to have.
Two - My husband just got a job in another state. It's a great job, good pay, benefits, in the same town as all of his family, etc. So I can't tell him not to take it, he even has said he will be bitter if I ask him not to, which I understand. But I love my home here, my family is here, it'll devastate them if we move. My mom has health issues and can't leave the house or barely walk. My dad also has health problems. My brother and sister have issues that cause so much stress and I've been the one who kind of helps them through it and is there when then need me. They've said so many times that us being here is sometimes the one bright non-stressful part of their lives. Plus my daughter only has 2 years left in her school here before she graduates, it's a magnet school and she LOVES it and it'll look really good for college that she went there. Plus the kids have some amazing friends they've grown up with here. I don't want to move but I'm afraid it'll ruin my marriage if I say no plus the fact the money and benefits are great. I don't know what to do. If he takes it, which I think he probably will, he has to start next month.
Plus there's been other stuff going on. I've been so stressed. Like "Gonna take all my sleeping pills and just be done with it" stressed. I wouldn't do that but I just don't know how to hang on and then this stuff happened today on top of all of it, I just don't know what to do.
I just need prayers, good wishes, whatever. I don't know what else to do. Thanks.

I hope that whatever the decision is about the move that things work out.
Also I hope you r grandfather makes a full recovery so that he can continue to help his wife.
I could see how a move would upset the kids too with graduation and friends as it is.
Hang in there.. you have us.

We all have stress so let it all out. Just don't be like the other lounger who had nobody to turn to. That is not what anyone needs. The last thing you want is to really devastate your kids and family.

My parents have 8 children in all and currently range in age from 28-51. I'm not even kidding when I say that I am and always have been, the best of them. The responsible one, the reliable one, the "rock", if you will. I have played caretaker, mediator, event planner and sounding board for as long as I can recall and at least 23 of those years it has been done long-distance.
The military has moved us a few times and even though I have always dreamed of moving back home to Florida after retirement, when my husband retired two years ago, we chose to stay where we are because our youngest son was a sophomore in high school, makes all A's, and LOVES his school and friends. The kid has worked so hard, he deserves to graduate with his class.
We're currently two states away but only 4 hours by car. When my mom had the "widow maker" heart attack 7 years ago, it was the longest car ride of my life and I cried the whole way. We have always been close but we're even closer now. I talk to her and my dad several times a week. We visit as often as we can and they do the same. (They're coming this weekend, in fact.
My mom was pretty devastated when I moved away but she also wanted me to have a good marriage. There were plenty of times I thought about letting hubby take orders and do the "geo-bachelor" thing, but in the end, I knew our marriage wouldn't survive it long-term.
What I'm saying is, it's not always easy but it's doable. You can still be the rock and the responsible one, even with many miles between you. You just have to make yourself stop asking the question "How the hell is this going to work?" and just make it work.
