I'm changin my post now since my papaw is home and feeling better now. This thread is for anyone to use and post their own requests. Lux took my post from another thread and made this a separate thread just for that reason. Please do not hesitate to make requests cause you might be surprised at the support you will get from the loungers!!
Here is my original request...
Sorry I know this is off-topic but there seem to be some religious people in here right now.
Please say a prayer for my grandfather cause my mom just called and said he just called her and she is taking him to the emergency room. He is having pains (chest, I believe). It scares me cause he had a heart attack last summer and then a 5 bypass surgery. So now I'm heading to meet them at the hospital. Thanks!

We all have stress so let it all out. Just don't be like the other lounger who had nobody to turn to. That is not what anyone needs. The last thing you want is to really devastate your kids and family.
My parents have 8 children in all and currently range in age from 28-51. I'm not even kidding when I say that I am and always have been, the best of them. The responsible one, the reliable one, the "rock", if you will. I have played caretaker, mediator, event planner and sounding board for as long as I can recall and at least 23 of those years it has been done long-distance.
The military has moved us a few times and even though I have always dreamed of moving back home to Florida after retirement, when my husband retired two years ago, we chose to stay where we are because our youngest son was a sophomore in high school, makes all A's, and LOVES his school and friends. The kid has worked so hard, he deserves to graduate with his class.
We're currently two states away but only 4 hours by car. When my mom had the "widow maker" heart attack 7 years ago, it was the longest car ride of my life and I cried the whole way. We have always been close but we're even closer now. I talk to her and my dad several times a week. We visit as often as we can and they do the same. (They're coming this weekend, in fact.
My mom was pretty devastated when I moved away but she also wanted me to have a good marriage. There were plenty of times I thought about letting hubby take orders and do the "geo-bachelor" thing, but in the end, I knew our marriage wouldn't survive it long-term.
What I'm saying is, it's not always easy but it's doable. You can still be the rock and the responsible one, even with many miles between you. You just have to make yourself stop asking the question "How the hell is this going to work?" and just make it work.
"What doesn't kill us....."
Yes!! That is exactly how it is in my family too! My brother (who lives a mile away from them) and my sister (who lives with them) add so much stress onto their lives I've been worried for years that it'll send them to an early grave. The past 10 years have aged my parents 30 from all the stuff they've put my parents through. During that time, it's always been me my mom will call and talk to about it, me who has gone there to help out whenever they have needed me, even though my brother and sister are right there I'm the one who drives an hour to do whatever. I'm the one who cheers them up when everything else is bringing them down so much, I don't ever tell them stuff that's stressing me because I don't want to stress them. My daughter is almost like another daughter to them. She goes over there almost every weekend and they are so so close.
Plus I guess, even putting my family aside, I love it here. I love (LOVE) our house, spiders and all. I love our town. I have some friends here. Our house is kind of unique and it just feels weird thinking of not being here. I guess I just kind of resent (as I know you can understand and I'm not telling you anything new) that I really just have no choice in this. I mean I am SO proud of my husband for getting this job, there was a lot of competition and they are offering a lot more than they originally did and offer to pay our moving expenses and stuff. Just sometimes I feel like I'm drifting along doing whatever everyone else wants me to do and at this point I barely even know what I want anymore.
It's about 4 hours away, so not terrible. It's just not really a place I've ever wanted to move to. Obviously I'm not gonna say he shouldn't take it and I'm not someone who is gonna mope around him and try to make him feel bad or something. If I feel bad I usually try to keep it to myself or come on here and explode my feelings, lol.

No, none whatsoever. They have to stay here because of my brother and sister (who will not move), plus my dad is super involved with his church (He does the lighting and has a lot of friends there and is his one place to go to where there isn't a bunch of family stress) and they've lived in their house for a gazillion years (Well more like 25, lol) and they are so so happy there.
And
Wait. Four hours away from Tennessee? Indiana?
Haven't you heard Indiana is trying to become North Florida lately? People driving of closed bridges, the new law that wasn't thought out too well and a few other things. Stay away. Stay FAR away.

lol no, Lexington Ky. But I am going up to Warsaw Indiana tomorrow morning with my dad to see my grandpa. Warsaw is where a lot of my family is, I was born there (Well technically, the hospital I was born in was in Goshen IN but my parents lived in Warsaw and that was the closest hospital I guess at the time.)

One - Last night my grandpa was at the Dr. and his pulse was 24. They airlifted him to a hospital and found out he had a mild heart attack and they want to put in a pacemaker. We thought it was going to be ok but he started hallucinating and now is in renal failure. They said it's because his blood wasn't pumping enough for clean his kidneys...or something. I'm not quite sure I understand but I know it's not good. He just put my grandma in a home a couple weeks ago (which is right across the street from him so he walks over and visits her every day). She has alzeheimers and in the last couple weeks has stopped being able to walk. If he passes away I don't know what will happen to her. They have the kind of marriage I've always wanted to have.
Two - My husband just got a job in another state. It's a great job, good pay, benefits, in the same town as all of his family, etc. So I can't tell him not to take it, he even has said he will be bitter if I ask him not to, which I understand. But I love my home here, my family is here, it'll devastate them if we move. My mom has health issues and can't leave the house or barely walk. My dad also has health problems. My brother and sister have issues that cause so much stress and I've been the one who kind of helps them through it and is there when then need me. They've said so many times that us being here is sometimes the one bright non-stressful part of their lives. Plus my daughter only has 2 years left in her school here before she graduates, it's a magnet school and she LOVES it and it'll look really good for college that she went there. Plus the kids have some amazing friends they've grown up with here. I don't want to move but I'm afraid it'll ruin my marriage if I say no plus the fact the money and benefits are great. I don't know what to do. If he takes it, which I think he probably will, he has to start next month.
Plus there's been other stuff going on. I've been so stressed. Like "Gonna take all my sleeping pills and just be done with it" stressed. I wouldn't do that but I just don't know how to hang on and then this stuff happened today on top of all of it, I just don't know what to do.
I just need prayers, good wishes, whatever. I don't know what else to do. Thanks.

I will certainly keep y'all in my prayers!
Once I moved out here my sibs are closer than ever, they get together at least once a week and they go visit our dad most weekends.

Not mine. With the exception of one, they all still live right there by my folks, are still a total PITA, and the majority of us (siblings) still hate each other!

I haven't told my parents yet. I figure while we are up in Indiana because his dad is so ill, it probably isn't the best time to bring it up. My dad looks like he's about ready to drop due to all of the stress. He's the power of attorney for his parents and is taking on everything. If my grandpa makes it, they think he will need around the clock care. He's very very out of it, when we got here yesterday he was hallucinating that he was driving and would get pissed off if someone tried to take his blood pressure and he'd yell that "I HAVE TO STEER! GIVE ME MY HAND BACK SO I CAN USE THE STEERING WHEEL!" and he was looking around seeing a whole world none of us could see. He can't swallow so we can't understand much he says at all. He was some better today as far as hallucinations, he seemed more lucid. But he still can't swallow. They said they might have to put some pump or something in his stomach perminately so it'll feed him because he might not ever be able to eat (or talk, walk, write, etc) again. They said the blood flow was cut off during his heart attack and his kidneys had been failing for awhile and no one knew so he might be like this for forever. I don't know.
Wow, that went off topic to your post, lol. I was just doing an update on him and then I just wrote and wrote and wrote.
It'll be Lexington or one of the towns right next to it. I think that's a little more right than central but I'm not sure. I used to live in Morehead for a few months, that was pretty cool. It was just a few months when we were first married though.
