I'm changin my post now since my papaw is home and feeling better now. This thread is for anyone to use and post their own requests. Lux took my post from another thread and made this a separate thread just for that reason. Please do not hesitate to make requests cause you might be surprised at the support you will get from the loungers!!
Here is my original request...
Sorry I know this is off-topic but there seem to be some religious people in here right now.
Please say a prayer for my grandfather cause my mom just called and said he just called her and she is taking him to the emergency room. He is having pains (chest, I believe). It scares me cause he had a heart attack last summer and then a 5 bypass surgery. So now I'm heading to meet them at the hospital. Thanks!

Your purpose in life is not to make other people happy. It's for you to have a good, healthy (physically and mentally), happy life and share that happiness with others who are around you, like your husband and kids and yes your parents. But your mom sounds like she's very manipulative and controlling. A normal parent would be sad to see you go but understanding, supportive and happy for you and this new chapter of your life.
I spent years trying to make my mom happy and no matter what I did it was never enough. Finally I accepted the fact that we would never have a good/normal/healthy mother daughter relationship because her goal was to control me, unlike a normal mother who would want to see her child flourish and become their own person.
So you can make yourself crazy trying to please everyone, which we all know is impossible or you can escape that dysfunctional relationship with your mom and find true happiness and peace.

Thanks both of you. will be ok. just bad right now.
I think what gets me is...im not moving someplace that'll make me happy. i'm once again following behidn someone who is perusing their dreams and wants. Had it been me...for once..that said "I wanna move here because of this and this and this..." Id try to move through it. Instead its just another pattern of me trailing behind what someone else wnats. Ehh, itll be fine.
Also, if you have room for a quick prayer for me too, I kinda want to die too. I hate this. Thanks.
Has the doctor suggested or talked about hospice care for your grandpa yet?
My mother-in-law was where your grandpa is now. The hallucinations/dementia is very sad and funny at the same time.
She lived next to a cemetery and would see the deceased people walking around the grounds. After a while, I was beginning to believe she really was seeing someone or their spirits.
The direct stomach tube feeding has it's good and bad. She also could no longer swallow and needed the feeding tube.
I wish you and your family nothing but the best in this new chapter of your life.
Remember to take time for yourself, an hour a day, even if it's only a simple relaxing bubble bath, just do it.

Thanks Tatty
I'm not sure how he is right now...the hospital seems to go back and forth "His heart is only beating with the pacemaker, if he didn't have it his heart wouldn't beat...oh hey we have him off the pacemaker. We think he has pneumonia..no, he doesn't..no wait, yes he does." The hospital is supposedly a very good one so I can only imagine his condition is changing each day.
My dad said my grandpa called him today, which was awesome because the last I saw him he could barely sit up or realize we were there. My dad said he seemed pretty lucid and fairly easy to understand. Which is awesome! I hate to get hopeful about it because he has a ton of other things they keep bringing up, pancreas, blood clot in the leg, gall bladder .When we were up there, one Dr. told us he would have to have his gallbladder taken out because it was so infected. Next day another Dr. was like "No, why would they say that? We are treating it with antibiotics." So I don't know but we are cautiously optimistic for now.
Would it be possible to stay home for a while and your husband can go up and start getting settled in with the new location? If there's a chance the new job doesn't work out, then it won't be a lot of moving back and forth. My boss left, started a new job in another state while his wife stayed home and finished college. The job wasn't what he thought it would be, and he ended up quitting and coming back. I guess it isn't the most supportive thought process, but it's a good thing they didn't sell the house and buy one at the new location...

Is that the first time your great niece has had seizures?

I hope some of this helps you and eventually sinks in just a little bit. You've got to take care of yourself (and your family) first, or you won't be able to help anyone else. If this is a solid opportunity for you to get insurance for the family, and for you to get medication you need, those are both hugely important factors.

Thank you
I mean, my dad was having foot surgery on Tuesday, about 10 min from their house. My mom asked me if I could drive down (about an hour away) and take him because my sister was being bitchy about it. My sister is 20 and lives at home...my brother lives 2 minutes away from them. Why am I the one that gets call all the time for stuff like this...and then she dares to tell me I'M being selfish? Bleh. I didn't even give her the satisfaction of responding. I'm a grown up and I've got my own family and I'm moving a couple hours away, how terrible of me, lol.
Thank you

I am. Trust me. I am, lol.
Another thing...Elizabeth is having her heart set on staying down here (living with either her best friend who's family has already said yes or my parents) so she can stay in her school. It's her last 2 years. She's in a magnet school that's one of the top schools in the state and she loves it and does so well in it. There are no schools comparable at all where we are moving. I'm torn because I understand her wanting to stay here but at the same time I can't imagine leaving her here. If it was just her saying "No I don't wanna leave my friends" I'd feel bad but be like "Well suck it up, we're moving" but the school thing is hard. So if anyone could say prayers/good thoughts that we can figure out the best decision with that, I'd appreciate it.
