Prayer Request Thread.

I'm changin my post now since my papaw is home and feeling better now. This thread is for anyone to use and post their own requests. Lux took my post from another thread and made this a separate thread just for that reason. Please do not hesitate to make requests cause you might be surprised at the support you will get from the loungers!!

Here is my original request...
Sorry I know this is off-topic but there seem to be some religious people in here right now.

Please say a prayer for my grandfather cause my mom just called and said he just called her and she is taking him to the emergency room. He is having pains (chest, I believe). It scares me cause he had a heart attack last summer and then a 5 bypass surgery. So now I'm heading to meet them at the hospital. Thanks!

I heart my Papaw!

Last month our little guy was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). He began Induction chemotherapy right away. After 29 days of chemotherapy the did another bone marrow test to see if the chemotherapy was working. It is working!! We now begin the second phase of the treatment, this is known as the Consolidation phase. This phase is the most intense phase of the chemotherapy. Next week we go in to have surgery (have his mediport) and begin phase 2.

We are asking for prayers, prayers and more prayers.

We do have a go fund me site set up (though I am not sure if it's ok to post here) where we are posting updates. I will try to update as I can.

I wish we could allow gofundme links but if we allow someone to post one, even someone we do trust, it could just open up a can of worms for everyone else we don't know and trust to post them too.

Thank you for posting this.

So sorry, but so glad the prognosis is good so far.

Just heard the same diagnosis for my nephew less than an hour ago and remembered that I'd read your post earlier.

My very best wishes to your little one.

That's wonderful!! We are trying to be positive and keep the faith. The unknowns are scary for sure. We are plugging along one day at a time. It is terribly difficult to watch him go through this. He is doing an amazing job though! Smilie
It's amazing how resilient kids are! Your right, it's so scary! The people at St. Jude were soooo wonderful about keep us informed. Don't ever be scared to ask lots of questions, even if you are scared that your bothering someone. Like any other job, people tend to forget sometimes, that this is not an everyday occurrence for the families. Please PM me, if you'd like to talk.

Update:

Surgery went well. The port was put in and he had some chemo via his spine. He will have another dose of chemotherapy this morning. He is a bit sore but in good spirits.

The only thing he was thinking about was a Subway Sandwich.

He told me:

"Next time we come up for spinal taps there is a subway if you go straight instead of getting on the highway."

And to be sure he got his sandwich he followed up with:

"And if you forget there is also one exit 20 then take a right."

I love my boy!

We will have a visiting nurse coming in several times a week to give him chemo via his port, chemo pills by mouth everyday and then back to the hospital next week for chemo via his spine.

Thank you for your support. Continued prayers would be appreciated.
Soooo glad to hear that he's doing well, and what a smart lil man! How is mama doing?

We had chemo again yesterday, he did very well. He had chemo via his port and then went under to have some administered via his spine. The visiting nurses come 3 times per week to give him chemo. He is doing really, really well considering. We are all tired and emotionally drained. We do have a facebook page up if anyone wants to get updates, let me know via pm and I can send you the link. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!
