Prayer Request Thread.

I'm changin my post now since my papaw is home and feeling better now. This thread is for anyone to use and post their own requests. Lux took my post from another thread and made this a separate thread just for that reason. Please do not hesitate to make requests cause you might be surprised at the support you will get from the loungers!!

Here is my original request...
Sorry I know this is off-topic but there seem to be some religious people in here right now.

Please say a prayer for my grandfather cause my mom just called and said he just called her and she is taking him to the emergency room. He is having pains (chest, I believe). It scares me cause he had a heart attack last summer and then a 5 bypass surgery. So now I'm heading to meet them at the hospital. Thanks!

I heart my Papaw!

I know how debilitating the neck pain can be. I was having severe migraines from mine along wit the pain and lack of movement. The shots helped but were temporary.

At this point it's not cutting off nerves (so this surgeon says)..so I am still putting this one on hold.. and dealing with my lower back in 3 weeks.

We can wimper during recovery together.. and then be all bionic and stuff after laugh out loud Flex hug
Good luck and Godspeed.
I was finally properly diagnosed last fall, and I have tried physical therapy, medication, and shots. Unfortunately none of those helped. If it just flared up every once in a while, I could probably deal with it. But it's just constantly bothering me no matter what so I figure if nothing helps and it obviously isn't healing itself then I might as well go ahead and have the surgery instead of living in pain all the time.

hug Make sure to follow the doctors orders to the letter. My cousin had surgery on his back, they told him not to move and not to lift himself, to ring for the nurse. He woke up from the surgery, didn't want to call the nurse as she would have made him use a bed pan, so he tried to sit up to go to the bathroom and wound up undoing everything the surgeon had done. Doh
I will definitely make sure to follow doctors orders. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain so I always have to watch myself to not go beyond my limits so soon after surgery. It will be interesting because I've had my fair share of operations, but this will be the first one in a while that will be inpatient instead of same day.

Hopefully my recovery shouldn't be too bad. Supposedly I shouldn't have to wear a neck brace and will be able to turn my neck (within reason) immediately after surgery. And full recovery should be weeks to get back to normal day to day stuff like driving. I was definitely surprised by that laugh out loud

Oh I totally get why you are going this route and I will not only send up prayers for you but also that your surgeon has his best day ever.

Glad that they have improved so much and cool that you don't have to wear a neck brace around.

One day I will likely need to have the same one for C-4 through C-7 or at least one or 2 of the worst in there.. it would be nice to be able to turn my neck more that the tiny bit I can now. hug and Prayers for you.

Have you tried it? I have herniations of C 5, 6, & 7, and I would like to avoid surgery if at all possible.

Yes, for multiple issues. It works great for me.

If you ever decide to try it, make sure your acupuncturist is trained in Chinese medicine. I live in Hickville, Nowhere, USA and there is only one doc in town that does it. He's totally white bread but was taught acupuncture at a Chinese medicine school in California. I checked all of his credentials before I let him poke me. Before that, I drove to Florida and had it done. Big Grin

Thanks. I know some that success and some who haven't. I wonder if that was the problem...

do you really think getting needles poked into your spine will help? play it safe & check with your psychic first

Well yours wouldn't give me the winning lottery numbers, so I had to find my own.

Good luck tomorrow. Be sure to take pics afterwards (no one's expected to live up to Autumn's live action surgery shots) and give us an update when you can. hug
