i wished it was plum district. i received a $10 credit on plum district from one of those new mom packets.

i'll be receiving my first ever bloom order using a plum district code. i ordered the thebalm matte palette (will be my first thebalm product) and a garnier shampoo.
they have really nice eye shadow! i got the shady lady 2 and i really like it. i was considering the matte one but didn't get it - the colors looked more on the cool side which i personally don't like as much. and i don't mind slight shimmer - my workplace is pretty lax so it's not like frowned upon or anything like some more conservative places.

Sounds like I'm skipping on the first day. It was a mad house when I attempted to go last year.

DH had his heat beat faster 2 years back. His doc noticed it on annual check up and then suggested to go to heart specialist. He was busy and didnt go to specialist then after 3 months it was still the same. Doc assumed it could happen for few reasons and stress could be one major reason behind it. BUT luckily after one month it got back normal so i know this could happen an go back to normal too. He never saw heart specialist in that time.

Just remember to do not consume drinks like red bull when you are still feeling that situation, it can make heart palpation even worst. DH was being checked by medical facility on his office campus. I believe them more because they dont do anything for money. It is free for employees. I would suggest you get checked. May be before you go to doctor call nurseline too , to know how severe this situation is hug
I tried to check the nurseline, but I'm not part of the health care Frown

I agree about the university health care center. I felt like they tried their best to help, and they're not out for anything. Plus, it was nice, since the school insurance covered all the copay and I just had to pay $10 for any meds.

Glad your DH is okay. My heart's been getting better after posting about all this earlier today. It's happened like 3 times in the last hour or two, so much better than normal.

I'm thinking it's just major stress and pressure Sadwalk I'm still trying to breathe deeply. I don't usually drink energy drinks nor coffee. Just water! All day! Smilie

I'm ordering online and paying for the quick shipping. I think I may leave next week for Thanksgiving. I need to talk to ds's teacher. He would miss 2 days of school, but one would just be parties. Family time is important too.

Yeah, that's definitely the plan. Cleaning my work desk, getting rid of all the bad stuff, and frankly stuff that I don't need anymore even though this company tells us to keep everything incase the COO would ask for something back 10 years ago on a whim!! WTF?! Crazy

Depending on if the Kat Von D items are there in store, I might end up buying online too, but I'm planning to hit the stores first and get rid of my store credit and do a return!!

For the science/medical girls, or anyone that's experienced this in general, I have a question about when my heart beats fast for one or two beats and returns to normal. Sometimes it happens in succession 2-10 minutes and sometimes 30 miuntes or longer apart. This started happening on Sunday and is still ongoing through today.

Last time this happened was last month and it lasted 4 or so days. This usually doesn't happen to me, but for some freak reason, I feel that this is becoming more common. I would breathe in and out deeply, but mostly to no advil because the increased heart pump would happen right between in one of my breathing exercises.

I'm under a lot of stress at work and work in a stressed mood at home because I have a test I am studying for. I'm hoping this is the reason. As I drove to work today, I felt a tightening in my chest and I'm trying to relax. I try to not think about work, either when I'm at home. I generally eat very healthy. Little to no processed foods and liquids. I don't really eat out. So I don't think it's high cholesterol.

I really can't figure out the reason. Any experiences or scientific knowledge?
hug Based on what you said, I agree with the other girls, I would recommend going to see someone and talk with them about doing a work-up. It could definitely be something benign, just stress-related, but in case it's something else, an EKG and other tests might be helpful as well.

A couple of possibilities:
  • Stress/anxiety: stress, panic attacks, anxiety causes the sympathetics in our bodies to become more active can increase your heart rate and cause palpitations. It's that "fight or flight" response.
  • Caffeine, nicotine, meds like Sudafed or albuterol: these also cause increased sympathetics, which can lead to palpitations.
  • Hyperthyroidism: one of the signs of hyperthyroidism is heart palpitations. It is also associated with weight loss, sweating, hot or cold intolerance, tremors, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, etc.
  • Arrythmia: there's a lot of different types of arrhythmias [nih.gov], and not all of them are ones that you would need to worry about. However, it's important to get checked out so that if it is something that needs close monitoring, you can set that up...

Here's another article with a bit of info on palpitations [harvard.edu]

I hope that helps, dear! hug

Thanks Sheena! I will definitely talk with a doctor if it happens again. I've been feeling much better now since this morning and since Sunday. What a change! I was just talking to my coworker about my boss and in the middle of her name, my heart jumped.

I've had panic attacks before, so I'm guessing that it's from stress, just based on my history and the illness I've suffered from stress. Stress and I don't mix well. shake head

If it continues, there could be more, and I'll get it checked Smilie

Thanks all!

You all should be glad your DH's & SO's are helpful with your shopping. My DH says everything looks good. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) He's absolutely no help. I get so annoyed at times, because I don't have a female to ask for opinions.

azn, you should definitely see a doctor. I go as little as possible myself, but heart problems aren't something to mess around with. Even young people die from heart problems they had no idea they had. We want to keep you around. hug

alvs, thanks for the Bloom GC deal. I've never heard of that site before. I'll look for it. I can always find something to buy at Bloom.
