Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do with black beans? I have a huge bag that I bought for black bean soup (So very tasty) but my husband doesn't really like black bean soup so I need some other ideas on what to do with it so we can both eat the same meal and use up the beans.

I use them as a major protein source in all kinds of things (I'm vegetarian). Like any type of Mexican food you'd make with refried beans, you can use black beans instead. I love to make black bean and cheese quesadillas. They are great mixed with eggs in a breakfast burrito, with salsa and sour cream. You can make a nice salad with black beans, avocados, and tomatos chopped up together with a vinegrette type dressing (or seasoned rice vinegar will be good too).

Ok, now I'm getting hungry. Smilie

I like having them with rice and spicing them up I also add them to anything when I need some extra protein.


An order I placed to replace a missing Kohls order was messed up somehow so they weren't able to ship it to me....they waited for me to email them to bother refunding! I am so annoyed I have to go to the store to get them to fix a return; while returning an item CS accidentally voided the return and didn't look at the receipt so now I have no item and no refund...I hope they listen to me.

I like black bean hummus a lot Rock other than that using it in Mexican food and black bean burgers are SO yummy!

Thanks for the suggestions ladies. Black bean burgers just never sounded good to me, but since so many of you seem to like it, maybe I'll give it a try! And quesadillas sound yummy too.
