I've gotten a lot of stuff from VS lately, but most hasn't been particularly good or bad. Here's reviews of the stuff that was either surprisingly great or awful...

cowl-back burnout tee [victoriassecret.com], S, black - I wasn't expecting much, and pretty much planned on trying it on and returning it, but I really like it. Anything with drapey qualities usually looks terrible on me, being busty with a smallish waist, but this was very flattering. From the front it looks like a normal cap-sleeve tee. The back comes down to just around where the band of a bra would fall, so if you wear the band low, you can even wear a regular bra with it. It is see-through though, but only at some angles in bright light. I don't know if it would be good for anything other than a bathing suit cover-up without a cami or something under it, but if they made this in an opaque fabric, I'd buy more, since it's only $4.99 with fs and a SRC. ruched v-neck sweater [victoriassecret.com], XS, wildflower - I knew this would be boxy, because it said "easy fit," but I thought sizing down would resolve that. It didn't. It also had weird open stitching in a line along the sides, I don't really know how to explain it better, but it looked bad.

double-breasted peacoat [victoriassecret.com], S, black - This was ridiculously tight in the arms, despite fitting everywhere else. I don't know whether I got a defective one or what, but I could barely bend my arms at the elbow, or move my arms much at all.

Awww, I'm sorry! I will tell you - I FINALLY gave up on men and swore them off. Literally - I wanted a FWB and even told my hubby that. I was a ROYAL pain in the ass for him. He wouldn't back off though and kept proving he wasn't like everyone else - now we have an amazing relationship and a great trust.

I ask him why he put up with me in the beginning. His response was, "I saw potential."

i wish dh would purge his 1/4 of our closet. there are so many things there he doesn't wear anymore or are too old. then he can reduce his space to 1/8.

our closet don't have gaps and i have stuff (coats, hoodies) in another closet. i wish they can all be together... and i wish i have a custom closet where everything has a place, including bags and shoes (eta: belts, scarves, etc) ... and ooh while i'm at it, a nice well-lit makeup station

Awww thanks for the advice dear! And yeah, he has to be Malayalee and Catholic, not just Christian...I actually probably wouldn't care that much if he wasn't Malayalee, but that would be like World War III + the Apocalypse rolled into one with the fam

OMG - sorry you guys but I need to vent!!

My mother is crazy. Like bat shi*t bananas crazy. She likes to blame everyone else for her problems, she has no money and makes me feel guilty about everything. This morning, in the midst of the busiest morning I have had in awhile with some SERIOUSLY urgent documents I need to get to the Angolan Consulate on my desk - she starts sending me texts about how she can't get a loan because there is something on her credit from me (it's BS, it was an eviction from an eapartment she rented, not me) and I ran away from her when I moved to Louisiana and I abandoned her.

It's my fault her life sucks. It's my fault my Dad left her. It's my fault because I abandoned her. I moved on with my life and fixed everything she screwed up in my childhood (and its a looooooooooong list). I lost it on her. I am done. I changed my cell number, told her I don't want her in my life and I am finished. I can't deal with her! I have tried SO hard for SO long and she is such a selfish bitch.

GRR! She has a boyfriend who is (please don't judge me for this, I'm nothing like her) a child molester, registered sex offender, no job, no cell phone, no car, still married with an 8 yo son in another state he doesn't pay child support for. These two (who can't pay their bills) bought his son a Playstation 3 and $200 in other stuff for Christmas, but couldn't send me a birthday card!!

Every time I talk to my mom she goes on about how bad his drinking is, how bad he is, how horrible her life is and how she needs to leave him. So I sent my mom abnd my sister xmas gifts - and in the text my mom had the audacity to say "thanks for my BF's xmas gift." REALLY!>!?!? WTF is WRONG with you!? You tell me how horrible he is, you can't even send me or my husband a bday card and you act like that? SELFISH BIOTCH!!!

GRRRR. Not like she could ever call to see how I am doing, or my baby.



Sorry girls. I just needed to get that out. I don't really have any friends and am at work. I can't deal with her psycho self.

My parents both suck big time - it's to the point where I have to ignore both of them for my sanity. Like if I had a kid, I wouldn't announce it to either of them. Anyway, you are not alone in the crazy parents club darlin

and cat--my mom is crazy too, so i definitely empathize. so sorry that she is so toxic to you, but i think you did the right thing by removing her out of your life. maybe it'll make her realize that she made a huge mistake and needs to somehow fix her life. you just need to focus on your family and your health. stress is not good for the baby if nothing else your mom did right, she at least showed you what not to be like as a mother. honestly, i'm trying to extricate my mom from my life too, but it's very sad. she gets off on blaming everyone else but herself and belittling people....

The advice I've heard, and it sounds logical to me, is instead of waiting for a nice guy, you go out and do all the things your ideal guy would do. Like athletic guys? Join a running/biking/ultimate frisbee/soccer meet up group. Like nerdy guys? Go to the local boardgame shop's game night. Just by doing more group activities, you'll be more likely to meet a nice guy or someone who will introduce you to a nice guy. OR Okcupid is always a possibility. I know 2 couples who are getting married who met on Okcupid when it was still free.

I've heard that before and I'm inclined to believe that is probably the best way to go about things. I'm not into a lot of group activities so I've probably limited myself to only meeting a few guys here or there. I'm doing what I can to meet people while still totally being myself and enjoying life. I figure if I don't meet someone while I'm out and about, I'm not supposed to.

Hi ladies!

Just got home from work and was super excited when I saw one of my Sephora orders had arrived. Then became super disappointed when I opened it and realized my order must've somehow got switched with another person. None of the things I ordered were in the box and in their place were a Smashbox Behind the Lens set and a Clarins Be Spon-tan-eous set. I want to contact customer service about it, but I'm worried about drawing attention to the fact that I used 10 different 15 off 50 codes and most of my orders were under the $50 mark - including the order in question.

Any ideas about what I should do?

The only thing that comes to mind, other than calling customer service, is to return the products to the store and then buy what I actually ordered. But the products I received are worth more than twice what I ordered and I'd feel like I was ripping Sephora off

I'm so jealous! I keep finding random The Balm stuff at TJMaxx around here but it's always the weird or unpopular products, never the palettes. And the Philosophy and Body Shop stuff I find it almost always near retail price

i was going to say target kuz of the gc's. you can always use them, and ipads are almost never discounted. but i haven't been following the ipad market so wait for someone else to chime in!

that happened to me too - my order was switched but the shipping invoice was correct. i called them about it and asked for a refund instead of reshipping bc i wouldn't be home to receive it in time. they refunded me all the $ i paid on cc back to cc and got the rest in online store credit. it seemed like they didn't know between the promo $15 gc and a regular gc. so you should be fine if you call them. HTH!
