What happened was we did a phone trade and he gave me his Iphone which I thought was fully working. I tested it out and everything seemed good. I go home and the usb cable that plugs into the Iphone only goes in halfway and if I move the cable just a little bit it disconnects from the computer. I contacted him and he says its a small problem and he didnt think he should have ran it by me. Now he is ignoring me after I asked him to just undue the trade or pay $20-$40 so I can fix it somewhere.
Well Im kind of ticked off and dont get how someone would just do that and not try to resolve the issue. And before anyone goes and says its my fault that I didnt test the phone, no one would think to plug in a usb cable to see if it fits in the Iphone. Anyways, stupid of him he forgot to wipe his contacts and his facebook account. What would you do in my place? Let it go? Iphone warranty ran out so its coming out of my pocket.

Also, impersonating someone is often(always?) illegal, so technically you could get in trouble if someone decided to push the issue.

Don't want to be at fault? Then buy a new one with a warranty.
Should he have told you? Sure.
But should you have checked it? Yes!
Checking everything about a used item should be common sense.

Common senses tells me I shouldnt get advice from you!
But hey, by all means keep attacking everyone to avoid taking responsibility for your own actions :p

I think he's a little bitter and obviously in denial.

You're so right! Keep buying shit on craigslist without checking if everything is in working condition! Then every time you get screwed over, you can make a thread and bitch about what a liar the seller is!
Two idiots joined in unity oh how cute.
