I'm sure they were peaceful, but the Americans With Disabilities Act prohibits these sidewalks from being blocked.
I'm still outraged that a cop had the nerve to write me a speeding ticket just because I wasn't following posted signs. Can you imagine?

You have these young idiots who will refuse to comply no matter how nicely or legally you ask them to comply for the sole purpose of getting videos and images like this made. They want to provoke a reaction. That's why they do it.
The thing is, what is the Davis administration or government supposed to do? Listen to the demands of these people and then just follow along? That would be the tyranny of the few controlling the majority of citizens. I would bet you that you could get 10,000 Tea Party people to camp out in Washington DC for 2 months in the rain/cold/etc. if it meant Congress would negate Obama's presidency and force him to resign at the end of the 2 months stint. But, that wouldn't be ethical or morally righteous in a law-abiding nation.
Basically, just because a few people want something, doesn't mean a government of laws must comply no more how righteous or peaceful they think they are. That's what's especially annoying about these occupy folks. They think they're above the law and above reproach and that because they exist, we should be legally required to honor their wishes.
The Tea Party could easily generate 10x the crowd these hippies are getting. Except, the Tea Party understands the law and knows that you can't just setup shop wherever you want and camp out until your litany of demands are met.
To make this relevant to Slickdeals, if myself and four other people got together and decided to "Occupy" Bryantq's home until he made us all Admin Mods, who here would support such an idiotic move? No one.

The only problem I have with using pepper spray is that you can't tell if they are crying because of that or just because they came to the realization that they are nothing but a drain on society and will never have anything to contribute themselves.
