Hi all,
I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.
Everyone is welcome!
I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.
This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.
So, I hope it catches on !

OK! I need a man (or a knowledgeable woman)! I mentioned to my son the other day that the knob on the dryer (the dry, less dry setting) wasn't moving. The dryer just kept going. Then I realized it was because it was taking the clothes that long to dry. It's not getting hot. Can anyone tell me where to start my research? Thermostat, heater thingy? My washer was dead for about a month, when I figured I had nothing to lose trying to fix it myself. I did and was really proud of myself. I've discovered that sometimes, you just gotta be in the mood for that defecation though, y'know? Sorry this is so long.
Hang on...I'm looking for the icon that has me covering my eyes but peeking between my fingers.
Uh, yeah,,,that's not good. I've had one of those Januarys. Maybe that's what brought it to a head...it's February, dang it!
Somebody here could probably help you better with the details, bot the only time I've been in your situation was when I went down to FL. All I had to do was push a button on their router and I was on. No need for a PW. Oh and you may be thinking of jules w/the UPS delivery tomorrow. Jeeze, I hope it's not that foolish magnet! I've got one of those coming, too. Can't wait to tell my UPS guy what he delivered.

I would start by checking the lint trap. If that is clogged, the heating element won't kick on. If the trap is clear, then it is probably the element. I am assuming it is an electric dryer. Most can be completed, in your home by you, with a simple google look up. It will take some tools, and some time, but the savings are hard to beat. There are also thermostats thru-out the drier that may be bad. Usually need more equipment to check those, but an appliance shop my be able to "bench" test them for you. Just mark them when you take them out, so you know where they go back in. Hope this was kind of helpful.
