RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

Hi all,
I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.
Everyone is welcome!
I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.
This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.
So, I hope it catches on !
So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

National Anthem at the Super Bowl - an editorial
"So, with all the kindness I can muster, I give this one piece of advice to the next pop star who is asked to sing the national anthem at a sporting event: save the vocal gymnastics and the physical gyrations for your concerts. Just sing this song the way you were taught to sing it in kindergarten — straight up, no styling. Sing it with the constant awareness that there are soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines watching you from bases and outposts all over the world. Don't make them cringe with your self-centered ego gratification. Sing it as if you are standing before a row of 86-year-old WWII vets wearing their Purple Hearts, Silver Stars and flag pins on their cardigans and you want them to be proud of you for honoring them and the country they love — not because you want them to think you are a superstar musician. They could see that from the costumes, the makeup and the entourages. Sing "The Star Spangled Banner" with the courtesy and humility that tells the audience that it is about America , not you."
My sentiments EXACTLY… AMEN!
Also just noticed Brads deal is giving away an X-box 360 with Kinect bundle.

I've not won anything on Marlboro yet but my daughter just won the ariet boots, she's also won the messenger bag and zippo. Lucky girl!
I even have a picture for that.

Congrats on the daughters Marlboro wins
in 2010 superbowl, Carrie Underwood sang the National Anthem, and that was the best I have ever heard.
the rest of the list goes like this:
2009- Jennifer Hudson
2008- Jordin Sparks
2007- Billy Joel
2006- Aaron Neville and Aretha Franklin
2005-
Combined choirs of the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy,
the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy,
and U.S. Army Herald Trumpets.
2004- Beyoncé Knowles
2003- Dixie Chicks
2002- Mariah Carey
2001- Backstreet Boys
2000- Faith Hill
1999- Cher ..............I remember this one, and yeah ! Cher was showboat'en
and etc,etc,etc
Fireboy I agree, its a great honor to sing our countrys Anthem at any event, and should be considered a
privilege to be asked to do so...... it should be delivered from the heart, not the Wallet !
what upsets me is what I don't see alot of that was taught in kindergarten until High school Graduation, when the Anthem is sung.....Stand facing the flag, placing one's hand over your heart, removing any hat that your wearing "specially Men' and singing along... its Our Anthem !
